My brother has been going thru this as well for the past 2 years. He says walking (or excercise) really clears his head and helps him not think too much, but mostly knowing that he has his family supporting him no matter what. Also, having our dog around him a lot for company, as they have so much fun together.

Fresh air. Going for a walk outside, doing some gardening, sitting outside people watching. Anything in the fresh air usually lifts my spirits some.

I don't know if you have someone special person in your life but to me it is my dad. Whenever I am sad and for whatever reason he always knows what to say. I always feel so much better after I've talked with him. I love him to death! Of course I also love my mom, my sister and my fiance but there is just something so special in my father. He just has the skill to make me feel better when no one else can.

Volunteer work and my pug.

Volunteer work gets me out of focusing on what I am sad about. And it reminds me that my time is better spent helping someone else rather than dwelling on something negative.

My pug is so silly she makes me laugh every day. Pug dogs were bred for thousands of years to entertain court women in China. Silliness really is part of the breed.

oh, i totally can relate. i also have a pug and he is my very best friend. he is definitely a mama's boy so he follows me everywhere. the 'big' guy has just turned 7 and he's still cute as ever. had him since he was 8 weeks old.

you can never go wrong with a pug.

I second writing. Feels so good to channel any kind of energy on paper. Even if the words don't make sense. and because I am the only one who reads it, I dont have to get into details on why I am mad like a diary. Just say what im feeling or thinking and I feel so much better.

I also definitely recommend a massage! Also, a good laugh is healthy.
