Just the other day I pulled my pre-lighted 6 inch tree out of the closet. Maybe I'll plug it in this weekend!

I'm very bah humbug. A 6 inch tree is an improvement over what I used to do, which was....nothing!

I put the lights up before Thanksgiving but don't turn them on until Thanksgiving night..I decorate the house after Thanksgiving...we get our tree sometime during the first week of December...I take everything down the day after Christmas as far as inside decorations go..the tree comes down New Year's Day...I take the lights down as soon as I can--weather permitting- after New Years..OMG this is all jsut around the corner isn't it?!??!?!

We loop tinsel with a tree bauble each end like a garland, over every picture in the house, as soon as the first Christmas card arrives. Later on I get my collection of handpainted Russian Khokhloma out as it's all painted in red, black and gold. I buy poinsettias for most rooms mid December. Then finally we buy at least a 6ft tall Nordmann tree the last weekend before Christmas and decorate it on Christmas Eve.

Thanksgiving weekend is when I put my lights and all up. Last year, Walmart had all their lights and decor for 75% off and I stocked up. DH thought I was crazy last year buying all this stuff after Christmas and now I tell him "see how fast Christmas got here".

I always star early. Right after Halloween

I love Christmas so much I want to have my huge tree set up as long as possible. We have to move by the end of the month and I probably won't decorate our new house this year because we are going on our trip right after... it makes me sad. So sad! :(

On the first Sunday in Advent (wich is 29th of November this year) or teh day before I change the curtains in the kitchen and decorate a bit. Most things come up a couple of days before Christmas. This year we'll be away for 2,5 weeks - first we'll visit London for a few days , then go to relatives in another town for Christmas and New Year , so I don't see the point in decorating much. In a way it is kind of sad, because I love Christmas decorations.

My family *had* this tradition of we'd go to my grandparents for the big family Thanksgiving dinner. Then we'd come home set the tree up and decorate it and then go see a movie.
Things have changed since my brother and I have grown up and we now have Thanksgiving dinners at our house, so it's whenever we have time on our hands to set up for Christmas....sucks

This is a bone of contention with me. Anytime after turkey day is ok. These stores that throw Xmas stuff up before that irritates me. Right before Halloween I was in a CVS driug store and they already had an isle dedicated to Xmas. I wanted to scream. It's just wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!

I actually had my lights put up last week. The guy that I hire gives me a good discount when he does them a couple of weeks before the mad rush. I added the rest of the Christmas scene yesterday! I love Christmas and am always in the Christmas mood around Thanksgiving. I think its because of the time we spent Thanksgiving in NY it was so amazing and decorated so beautiful really put us in the christmas mood ...as long as its not up before Halloween, I think its acceptable he he!
