I love BMW 335!! I thought BMW and Mercedes have free maintenance for the first 5yr/50k mileage?

I'm not sure if Merc has it too but that was what I understood the plan was from BMW.

Its not any more (or too much more) expensive than that Porsche would have been if something went wrong with that.

I would say mercedes :) They are my favorite, and I'm planning to get one for my first car in a few years. My dad has one, as does my mom. My dad's is 10 years old, and it is still working. My mom's is 5 years old, and still in excelent condition. They hardly break down (until they get 7+ years old), then that's when the problems start. (from our experience).

I think 20k was in pounds not dollars. What about a VW jetta or beetle TDI. Cleaner and great gas mileage. Insurance wouldn't be bad since its not considered a sports car. I'm interested in one, and I already have a car. LOL Lexus are a bit glam, but have the reliability as a toyota/Honda so that would be a good choice too.

^no i would have paid the extra for the porsche, but then i saw the true cost of running the car plus insurance group 20,i put deposit down but didnt phone up about insurance cost till after, got back, despoit .Been told 20k is ok and 25 if going to really keep, but trying to keep cash buy to 20k,im in uk,pounds dear, porsche boxter is 33k,plus extra's,you can pay over one or two years with large depsoit, the mini is wonderfull, but by the time i put everything from the extra's in it,as you dont get much basic,im not sure its vaule for money, but havent seen anything else i like.I' allways spend over, but if a good car that will last,i dont mind.I dont want to buy something and get,why the hell did you buy that, but want something smart,as all i looked at was the porsche and the mini.what im saying is,what else is there, would you buy a mini,or is there something that is smart and will look good in years to come, but good on petrol, and a good drive

I'm no help because I really really love my Honda Civic Hybrid in taffeta white. Cheap maintenance and I go to the gas pump about once every 2 weeks.

my uncles live in UK one has a diesel BMW 318 (?) which is really nice and the other has a honda accord which I think looks really nice since it looks like the US acura rsx which is a really nice car over here. Either of those might be good for a first car

audi A4 for reliability and safety. also mercedes because when properly maintained, they last like tanks and basically any glam luxury car will cost about the same for maintenance. try to look into saab (they have good deals out there) too.
