I’m glad someone resurrected this thread. Here are my top 3, all from reading internet forums:
Number 3: Loose is the adjective that describes change, as in coins. Lose is the verb that indicates that you cannot locate something. They are not interchangeable! (FYI: loose is also a verb, but with a different meaning from lose.) Number 2: The many many many misspellings of “definitely.” And Number 1: Of is a preposition. It does not follow would, could, should, must, might or any other similar verbs. It is “would have,” or the contraction form “would’ve,” but it is NOT “would of.” I know there are offenders on this board. And I hope no one is upset by what I wrote, and perhaps you might be a little pleased that someone pointed these out

People who sing, whistle and/or (these often seem to go together) drum their fingers on tabletops/desks at work, in a shopping/order line, or basically, where you are their captive audience.
People who talk during movies. |

Where do I begin
![]() People that use the wrong verb tense. For example, 'was' instead of 'were.' I also can't stand when people can't figure out the right tense of a word to use, then use one that doesn't exist. No joke I have heard this from a forty year old woman....."he throwed that ball hard didn't he?" The Kissy face picture on myspace..... ![]() Parents that send their small children into public with dried food on their face or clothing. Dirt under fingernails...YUCK. Or even better when small children do not have their toenails trimmed and they become daggers. People that grind their teeth. People that roll their eyes after everything that is said. People that have a tooth that snaggles....(I know Im going to hell for that one.) Oh and finally when people type or say "Imma" instead of I am. |
