We don't have trick-or-treaters where we live in the country, but we go to a friend's home in town and take the kids trick-or-treating. We always bring big bags of small candy bars - Snickers, Twix, Kit-Kats - to the friend's house to hand out.

![]() Karra- I think it is a nice idea w/ the apples and rulers, but the kids probably just want chocolate. You'd probably get the look if you gave them cheap lollipops like they have at the bank too! |

Last year I handed out cans of pop that was leftover from my wedding (like two months before so the pop isn't expired or anything). I don't drink pop, and having 50+ cans sitting in my garage just doesn't do much.
This year I'm thinking those snack size bags of chips. Hope those kids won't be expecting pop again! Lol. |

Back when I lived in an area where we got trick or treaters, we'd get a big bag of various mini hershey bars and a bag of mini reese's cups and hand those out. We did little gift bags one year too.

Usually just a huge variety bag from Costco or Sams Club. It just has all the normal delicious goodies in it like snickers, reeses, hersheys, butterfingers, almond joys, kit kats, ect....

Last year, we gave out full size chocolate bars, and we ran out pretty quickly. One of the kids came back four times, and DH didn't notice. His friend finally sold him out
This year, I bought a mixture of little ones and big ones.

I am so envious of everyone who gets like 50 trick or treaters. We get literally 10x that. I buy hundreds of dollars of mini chocolate bars every year (snickers, twix, milky way, etc.) and I run out by 9 and have to hide in back with the lights out. And I only give one per kid, for the most part!! We moved just around the corner this year, and I'm hoping it's a little better now that we're off the little cul-de-sac we were on. Still have to go out and get at least two full paper grocery bags of candy, just in case...
