I keep 3 spare changes of clothes (2 sets of work clothes; one for each job and also a set of comfy clothes) a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of flip-flops, a toiletries bag (basics like toothbrush, deodorant, hairbrush, etc), a blanket, a Mag light, Febreeze (gotta keep the car smelling good) and I'm pretty sure that's it. Currently I also have a bunch of dog blankets back there too that I can pull out when I take the puppies for a ride.

It is a lot, but I work 2 different jobs on 2 different sides of town and never know what I'm going to encounter that day.

I've stopped on a freeway before in dead cold weather and it was HELL waiting for the tow truck. So basically we would starve but be warm and hydrated
wow, great ideas!!

I do not keep anything in my trunk (I installed a stereo with 2 amps/speakers back there) so I cannot so much as keep groceries back there in case of spilling. One time my db asked me to drive his niece to the liquor store, they stored alcohol in the back and one burst all over my stereo. That time was a must considering I didnt want liquor in the car (in fear of his niece and her friends drinking it while Im driving) but since then Ive not kept anything in the back, especially since my amp is still "recovering." Sure clothes and big soft items are okay but I just prefer to keep nothing back there. I have a small 2 door car as it is so its a pain not having any trunk space and not even having a spare, as well as having to haul everything in/out of the back seat. But I try my best.

As far as the front of my car, I do keep some things in the compartments. I always have my license/paperwork in case I get pulled over. I dont carry it in my wallet because I dont always carry a purse/wallet and because I kept losing everything before I had to leave. I keep makeup in there as well, sometimes Im rushing out of the house and do my makeup when I have time. (Yes my car is pretty much my purse! lol).. I also have pens/paper, my supplies for my business, car duster, perfume, change, cds... and god knows what else. Just little things, nothing special.

Nothing, other than the GPS sometimes. I have run flats, so no spare tyre.

In my trunk, I have a white foldable basket that we use to hold groceries and other stuff that can then be carried into the house from the car. Spare tire / jack. That's it. I don't keep stuff in my car in case my car is broken into since I don't want anything to get stolen. I do not keep my car registration/car insurance in my car at all. But, I keep a copy of that info in my wallet.

A co-worker had her car stolen from her other office building. Since her car registration was in her car and had her address on it, the thieves drove to her house and robbed her house. Ever since she told me that story, I do not keep any paperwork in the car that would have my address on it. Besides registration/car insurance, do not keep receipts that you get from your mechanic or Jiffy Lube that would have your address on it inside the car.

Spare tire/jack

foldable plastic crate to hold groceries in
Car emergency kit (jumpers, flares, air tire pump, blanket, etc)

on occasion - it's my hiding place for new shoes, clothes, etc until I can get it into the house ... then when the question is asked, "Is that NEW?" - "no, I've had this for awhile..." LOL!!
