In a way, I can understand the resistance to the 'green movement'... I feel like a ton of people are being "green," because it's trendy and cool right now to do so. Honestly it annoys me when people preach about using reusable grocery bags, but then hop in their gas-guzzling SUV a thousand times a day to make unnecessary trips (often to places where they buy crap they don't need that comes in non-biodegradable packaging). I feel like there's a lot of self righteous hypocritical "green" wannabes, and I hate being preached at. BUT I also feel like if every person makes a few little changes, then it will all add up.

I definitely don't try to be on the "green" bandwagon, but I recycle, I buy local organic food as much as possible, and I try to produce as little trash/waste as I can by making things from scratch and using reusable containers. I try not to waste energy and water, but that's mostly to keep the bills down. I do what I can, but I do agree with others that the whole "green" thing is sort of a marketing ploy and I do somewhat resent that. IDK why...

I ordered my 'vampire plugs' and they are already shipped. I knew that some appliances sap energy when still plugged in but I never thought about the things connected to my TV.
Thanks again!

My only question for the people that use or are planning to use the "vampire plugs" how do you not lose your settings each time? I don't mean on a computer (I understand how that works) but on a receiver, blu-ray player,tv, all of these items had to be set up initially, when they are unplugged they will reset to factory settings. Do these "plugs" by-pass that somehow?

I'm going to try those vampire plugs. Our friend's an electrician who is into energy conservation and solar panels, so he's very familiar with them. He called them something else though.

I encouraged my parents to get an energy star TV and they love it. Their power bill is always outrageous.

Whole foods have the cutest new reuseable sacks made from woven leaves for only 1.99!
