I'm now exactly in the middle of the book and I really like it very much - especially the description of characters and the style of writing. It's a pleasure to read. Fortunately the translation (I read in german) is very good says my brother who had read the original spanish version. (Jane Austen's books showed me how different translations can be!) And years ago I've visited Sevilla. Maybe that's one more reason why I find the book interesting.

There's a sequel, The Winter Rose. Fiona and Joe are supporting characters in it... as her brother is one of the main characters.

There's supposed to be a third and it's kind of "set up" in this one.

It's not quite as good but I really liked it and it's definitely worth reading. It's a BFB...great for the beach or pool.

I'm so enjoying it, I almost don't want to finish it but I probably will tomorrow! Last book I felt this way about was Les Miserables, wow

Michelle, do!! I finished it today and I can't recommend it enough. It moved me so much. I now want to read more about that period of American history - it's not something we're taught in great detail here in the UK. Maybe somebody can suggest something...? I'd be really grateful!

now that I'm about to be on summer break finally, I started reading The Host again. Only thing is I'm finding it hard to get past one chapter each night. I loved the Twilight series but am not loving this one. Maybe when I get to the middle of the book it will hit me and make me fall in love with it.
