I'm done with "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. This is the best book I've read in a long time. Beautiful and well written. I highly recommend it.

I just read "The Giver". I skipped it as a kid, and decided to go for it.

Good book. A little traumatic maybe...

^I enjoyed that book. So many people read it for it's philosophy, but I read it because I really enjoyed the story. I've always enjoyed long books, though. I'll rephrase, I like GOOD long books. :)

i've always been curious about ayn rand, but the length and the immense scope of philosophy off putting, atlas shrugged in particular. so the story is engaging and not mired down with too many tangents into philosophy, etc?

^I think it's good, but it is a matter of preference. Atlas Shrugged is her most philosophical one, although they're all pretty philosophical. I find the philosphy interesting, although i don't agree with all of it. The story fascinated me though. The Fountainhead is one of my favorite all time books. If you're just looking for a straight up good story, that's the best, I think. I seriously got lost in that book. It's so good. I read her other books just because I loved The Fountainhead so much.
