Default Waaaahhhhhh!!!! My Iphone screen is shattered, help!!!
So I have had my lovely little Iphone that I cannot survive without for only a month. I have never ever dropped it and tonight I was taking off my riding boots in my garage and I had put it in my sweatshirt pocket. I bent over to take off a boot and SPLAT!!!!! My Iphone fell out of the pocket, facedown on the concrete garage floor and the screen is in a million pieces.

Has anyone broken their Iphone screen?? I have heard that Apple *may* replace your phone at no charge but it is unlikely. I obviously have no insurance on it because it is unavailable. Help!

I'm sure the iPhone has a one year warranty, so Apple should be able to take care of it just fine. Also if you bought the AppleCare which will extend your warranty it also helps too. How long did you have your iPhone?

I recommend you call up your local Apple store (or the 1-800 number) and give them a ring. I'm sorry your iPhone got horribly damaged. I have the iPod Touch and this is one of my fears.

Usually the warranty only covers faulty manufacture not accidental damage......I hope they'll take pity on you and fix it for free

Warranty normally doesn't cover damage that is your fault...ie: dropping it!

You may find someone at Apple who will take pity on you, but accidental damage is not covered under the warranty. Assuming you paid with a credit card, your card may cover the damage since it is fairly new.

There are third party insurance companies that will cover your iPhone, as well as any other gadget you own.

Oh no, I'm so sorry kristie! If you're good at putting things together (or know anyone that is), I do know they sell the iphone screens separately at some online stores, and there are tutorials on how to replace it - however, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that the Apple store will fix it for you!

No manufacturer will cover accidental damage under their standard warranty. someone at Apple may take pity on you, but don't count on it. You'll probably have to buy a new one, and may I suggest a hard plastic case. I have an iPod Touch and have dropped it on concrete multiple times with its hard case and never had a problem. The case absorbs the impact (mine sometimes splits apart and comes off on impact, but the iPod is always fine) and greatly reduced the likelihood of damage.

I worked at Best Buy for three years, and I know quite a few people there that have gotten an iPhone since they started carrying them. They all have hard cases and have dropped theirs with no damage. I even had one friend drop hers down a flight of concrete stairs and the hard case had to be replaced, but the phone was fine.

Obviously, that's more of a PSA for the folks here than advice for you, since yours is already cracked. I hope the Apple people are helpful!

I would try and go and explain what happened because like the others said they might take pity on you and fix it for free or for a lesser cost. My macbook pro had cosmetic damage and then the latches broke and I had a warranty for it but the guy said they would blame the latches breaking on the cosmetic damage because the lap top had been dropped (even though the dropping happened 2 years prior to the latches breaking). He overrode my warranty and instead of me paying 900$ he had it fixed for free. It is always worth a try and someone may be nice! Good luck.

I'm sorry this happened... it really sucks. :( But like everyone said I don't think they'll replace it. They won't replace anything that is "wear and tear" like dropping it and water damage.
