So after many years of school I'm finally a senior, which means that I'm basically slaving my butt off in IB. Only 6 more months and it will be over but now I have to decide which university I want to go to.
I want to study medicine but since it is kinda difficult to get into medicine here in Holland I also want to give it a go in the UK as well as applying here.
I sort of have an idea about universities I want to apply to but I'm not sure yet.
Please tell me all about the university you went to
(even if you didn't study medicine)
Why did you go there. How did you like the environment. What's student lfe like, etc. It would reaaally help me out.

Hi PinkRose,
Im currently not at uni (dropped out) but I am applying for next year, I chose the wrong course at the wrong uni. However most of my friends have gone to uni and a lot are doing medicine. I would tell you that it is VERY competitive to do medicine at uni in the UK and I know of 2 people who had brilliant grades 5 A's at alevel (our IB equivelant) and did not get a place. BTW you only have till Januaury 15th to apply through UCAS, I dont know how you apply if you are applying from abroad.

For an international student like yourself I would say applying to the universities in London and around London would be your best bet as this is where many international students go and you would feel more comfortable there.

Really good and competitive universities to look at for medicine are:

University College London (UCL), Kings College London (KCL), Imperial University, Queen Marys, St Georges, Nottingham and obviously Oxford University and Cambridge university however the latter two are not as good for medicine as the others. I hope this helps x

Thank you so much. It definitely helped. I already looked at some of the unis you suggested but not all of them yet. I will certainly check them out..
I indeed also have to apply through UCAS but I do get help with that from my carreers counselor. Now just hope that I get accepted..

Same lol, Im really scared too because I dropped out and got accepted to all 5 places I applied to last year and the chances of that happening this year are slim lol

I know exactly what you mean. But if you got into all 5 last year you will probably get into at least one this year too. What did you study, by the way?

I didnt really study, I didnt like the uni so left the day after I go there. I was supposed to study psychology.
