I work in a Dutch Call centre (for a computer company) - so I get yelled at in Dutch ALL DAY! and I have to make orders for spare computer parts - it's boring and on days when my boss has let to many people take the day off - it's really busy and the yells turn to SCREAMS...

I vote for Jillybean. Sadly (wait a minute--I think I meant happily, even though it means I can't compete for a purse) I love my job--and don't have to listen to anyone talk about their vaginal discharges, a fringe benefit. Ick.

4.I DONT GET PAID
5. I am on call 16 hours of the day...somedays I have clients who come over at 2 in the morning.
5. I deal with hairy legs, hairy back, smelly airpits, bad BO.
6. I have people cancel appointments and then tell me that my work DIDN"T WORK!!!!....(patients are advised depending on diagnosis how many sessions to attend to see a differnce)
7. Most of my clients are unaprreciative and never bother to say thank you even thoe I dont charge at the moment but I could for ever 100
8.THe owner of the place I work in a a F****** tyrant, he beings people into the office just too look aorund snoop at my things.
9. Patients are VERY uncoopertive at times...especially when dagnosis calles for certain prescriptions and they are not willing to do it and then yell at me that I dont know what I am doing and I wont fix anything.
10. Sometime patients steal my supplies.....I have no idea why....but they do.......

Jillybean307, I couldn't stop laughing when I read your post! She sounds like the Great "V" from Hell! Have you considered writing a Manual about "How to Get Rid of Your Evil Boss?" Lots of people have been itching to do that!

i'm tired! I've been a lab technician for almost 30 years and now its getting overwhelming.
I am getting older, almost 51 and lifting these 25 to 26, 5 pound bags of salt samples everyday is starting to take its tole on my back!
I can't quit or retire because i have two kids in college and i have to keep the insurance for them and they always need money.
My husband is a selfemployed account for 35 years thats got heart issues and we need the medical insurance for him too he takes seven pills a day. WE are middle income but we can't get anybreaks or grants for the kids in college,(we make too much, but not enuf to be really comfortable) so we have to give them even with their loans.
I WOULD LOVE A NEW BAG to enjoy while I'M STRESSING ABOUT MY KIDS AND ALL THEIR EXTRAS FOR SCHOOL, to give me courage to stay working at least another 5 years.......... and to ENJOY WITHOUT feeling quilty about getting something lovely for myself.
Lets not add that if I were a man supporting a family, I would get paid more just because ,thats the mentality here in the South ,like we women don't do as much work!!!!!

I take care of children for a living in my own home. While I love the kids, I literally work in s--t all day long!

OK-I know many of you as parents have been pi--ed on by your own children-pleasant-right? I have been thrown up on by other children-one kid actually had such good aim that it got in my mouth .
Can you feel the repulsion from there? How about the little boy who used to run through the neighborhood screaming at anyone who would listen in a fearful voice that "that lady is not my mommy, i don't know her". Yes, he thought it was funny when people would get that concerned, about to dial 911 on the big bad kidnapper look. Luckily, I was never picked up by the police!

Then, there was the time that another little boy I used to take care of and my son who were both 1 1/2 at the time, found some chocolate icing in the fridge and spread it all over my upholstered couch. Do you all know what chocolate icing looks like spread all over deep green fabric? it looked like someone had had a bout of bad diarhea(sp?) right there. Or, more recently, while I was in the bathroom for I swear, must have been 2 whole minutes, a little girl I watch found my lipstick and drew all over herself (she was wearing a lovely WHITE gauze blouse at the time) and my carpeting. I should buy stock in Oxyclean considering how much I use!

Now, the kids are easy enough to handle-let's talk about the parents. Like the mother who used to let her 5 year old daughter call me and herself names-because, you know-we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's self esteem by actually asking them not to call the babysitter a turd or an a-- or her own mother a b--ch. Where she learned these words, I have no idea.

or the little girl who spoke both Chinese and english. I only speak English-but at one point, the parents felt her Chinese was slacking off and told her to only speak Chinese. Fine-but, I don't speak it! I asked them to please ask her to speak English while with me and they refused-saying it would confuse her. Instead, they bought me a lovely Chinese to English dictionary. As if it isn;'t hard enough to understand when a 3 year old speaks, now I had to try to translate it qucik enough while looking the words up in a book! This little girl doesn't come here anymore.

How about the parents who wanted me to remove all lightbuls from any lamps that I had in my house? They were terrified that their little boy might touch a lightbulb and burn himself ! I don't even use most of the lamps in my house-I use the lights on the ceiling most of all-but, they were concerned.

I won't even get into the parents who brought their 1 year old daughter for me to watch-never left me their work or cell numbers and then were over an hour late picking her up because they got confused. I really thought they had purposely forgotten her! And, of course, there are the parents who just don't pay, or the ones who showed up at my door one day saying that they couldn't afford me anymore but, would I mind watching their son for the rest of the week for nothing as a going away present??

Suffice it to say, I do not take care of most of these kids anymore.

Does it have to be a current job or can it be one of the previous jobs?

I not only deserve a new bag, I NEED a new bag because of the supreme “suckage” at my job. Where do I begin? I work for a company that has the sole function of training people to become “techies” but we work on outdated computers with old software (Windows 98) and nobody seems to understand the concept of a database. The building and absolutely everything inside of it looks like it was dipped in a huge vat of “beige”, including the employees. The first thing you notice when you walk in the door is the silence. Nobody smiles, nobody laughs, nobody chats.

But then you get to my department with a manager whose reputation precedes her to the point that, even though positions in the department would be promotions for most people, nobody has ever sought an internal transfer to the department. Inside our beige cells we discreetly refer to our manager as “Cruella” and simply say “hide the puppies” when she’s sighted. God himself could not live up to her expectations. To say she is a perfectionist with no social skills or compassion is an understatement.

Quite frankly I could go on and on about Cruella but in an effort to keep this as brief as possible, yet still make my point, here are two examples. First, she expects perfection in all things – including internal emails. At some point in 2005 I sent an email to a co-worker about a project and I had misspelled a word. An entire year later, Cruella needed to review the project file and came across this email. She made a copy, circled the misspelling in red ink, wrote “next time use the correct spelling”, and placed it in my inbox. I have no doubt a copy went into a future “firing file” to be used against me one day. The second example shows her utter lack of social skills and compassion. A co-worker’s mother had become unexpectedly ill. My co-worker went to Cruella and requested permission to take a half-day vacation day to take her mother to the hospital for tests. Cruella said this to her: “You do realize your mother is going to die one day, don’t you?”

I could leave it at that and I think it would stand on its own. But I would like to also explain why it is I really do NEED a new workbag. Not surprisingly, 2 people have quit in the last 2 months. This equates to 40% of her work staff. She is in no hurry to hire replacements because she likes to wait until she finds the perfect clueless sucker – that’s how she got us. But does that mean tasks are re-prioritized and pointless projects are put on the backburner temporarily? No. We have been told we need to work on managing our evenings and weekends so that we can get all of our work and the extra work done on schedule. Let’s just say, my posts to this forum have been non-existent because my workbag is beginning to burst at the seams due to the need to bring work home every evening and weekend. I’m taking tonight off, but will hit it again tomorrow morning. No TGIF for this girl.

I've had a horrible day and it is Friday. I work for the biggest retailer in America. On most days I like my job. I'm an assistant manager and the money is good. I work 9 to 12 hours a day and I sometimes work 6 or 7 days a week. Yes, I have a family and they have a big picture of me on the wall. The kids do remember me I swear. (I stayed home with them till they went to school) Since my company is all about the customer and those big smiling faces I suppose I should really smile more. Today a customer came at me with everything he had and he did all he could do besides hit me. I swear people are rude and they just keep getting ruder. I gave the man what he wanted which by the way was the sale tax difference for california vs nevada. So he screamed and yelled for 27 cents. the real kicker is when my Co Manager came up he stopped yelling and treated him really nice and just to prove he was a nice guy he said sorry to everyone but me and the cashier. I really hate that male thing where men will yell at a woman but not a bigger man. I dislike the lack of respect that I got just because I work retail. I may not be using my masters degree but please do not assume I'm stupid. I think all people in retail at one point or another get treated badly. I also know many of you hate my store and what they stand for. I know sometimes the person is rude or not helpful and you as a customer have the right to get mad but don't treat people like they are not human. Okay with all that said I've had a bad day and this is a total ramble of sorts. I have tons of grammer problems and I have a habit of using run-on sentences. I'm sorry and if this hasn't made it so I win I could tell you a million stories but the fact I work at Wal-Mart should get me something.. :0)

HAHA, yes I did. The whole time I watched that movie, I kept thinking, "I don't know why everyone thinks Miranda is that bad?" I think my spirit is broken
