Charles - thank you very much for the invite - would love to join in, but I think we are going to stay downtown on Friday. I'll call you about Saturday.

Amanda - I know what you mean about the bye week being a welcome break - as much as I loooove football season, it can consume one's life a bit~ gotta always plan around the games.

The game last night for FL/MSU - heart palps indeed. What is up with us in the Red zone?? Why was Doe showboating like a moron? (I will say it: that was NOT a touchdown!!!) Why is Sturgis missing easy field goals? What is wrong with special teams? Why does Tebow need to carry the entire team on his back? Why did the officials miss an offsides penalty against MSU? (The officials must be getting TONS of complaints about this game).

Mississippi State played a terrific game last night - you could see the competitive and hard working nature they have - they played tough from start to finish.

Why am I complaining about my #1 team with 17 wins in a row? I know the answer to this one: I'm a Spoiled Gator! I guess when you are at #1 there's a huge target on the team's back - the country and the fans want to make sure they are playing at the #1 level.

Glad we pulled out the W though.

So who's getting geared up for this weekend?

Even Victoria's Secret, of all people, sent me an email about the GA/FL game - it had pictures of both UGA and UF sweats from their Pink University line and all I can wonder is did they just send them to EVERYONE in their database with an address in GA or FL? Or was it just those in Athens or Gainesville? LOL. Anyone else get that? I've never bought anything from that particular line before.

This weekend is UGA's fall break every year, so most of my friends have already vacated Athens for Saint Simons or Jekyll Island (a lot of Dawg fans refuse to give Florida their hotel money every year, so they stay near the border but in GA). Athens-Clarke County also gives all of the kids in regular school the day off tomorrow since in 2007, 170+ teachers took personal days on that Friday. So after that, they just decided to cancel school every year.

I'm sooooo jealous of all the Facebook statuses I keep seeing about arriving in Jacksonville and all the Tweets I see from various news outlets and sports journalists that are there. I wish my plans hadn't gotten screwed up!

Anyone else already preparing for the weekend? GO DAWGS!!!

I'm headed downtown right now to watch the game with the approximately four other people left in Athens right now, but I just wanted to put out there that for us, a victory isn't necessarily a win. I'll take it as long as Florida doesn't cover the spread and we do something to piss off Urban Cryer so bad that he 1) refers to himself in the third person in the after-game press conference or 2) writes about it in his next book.

The game was amazing! I had so much fun, but I'm so tired from all the sun, cheering, and walking... Great seats and I was seated next to some very nice GA fans who were good company for the game - a nice change from the people who usually verbally assault us without provocation. I also saw Charles for literally one minute - then I went back to the hotel and crashed - recovering today!

Our coaching staff needs to go. All of it. As do those black helmets with red face masks. Eww. I knew we were screwed as soon as the players ran out in that atrociousness.

But that didn't stop me from drinking five beers and heckling the lone Florida fan in the bar, however. NOTHING will ever stop me from doing that.

Halloween night in Athens was still the best thing on the face of the planet, though. The best costume I saw involved a live llama on a leash.

^ A live llama! Awesome! LOL
The nice older GA gentleman next to me was very perturbed about the black helmets for the first quarter of the game. He asked me my opinion of them a few times

This was the first year that I've been to the stadium for the game. Kara and I packed up our cooler on wheels and headed to the Southbank to catch the water taxi. Although it was a bit slow, it was a great night to be on the river, relaxing with a beer and a beautiful girl next to me. We eventually found my work mates, at RV city, and chit chatted for a bit. I went out to meet up with Janeen and her man, said hi, tried futilelychit to convince them to hang with us, walked back, head hanging, chit chatted some more, then realized that somehow, we had gone through 18 beers in about 3 hours. Dejected and beer-less, we took the taxi back and then met up with some friends at a local bar.
All in all, a fun night. Jeneen and her man are required to have a beer with me next time we see each other...also, the Bulldogs are required to win next year.

^ Sorry Charles :( We were out in the sun all day and walked a million miles and definitely exhausted... next time for sure we will have a toast together.
