I'm not really surprised. They have decent talent, but no one knows WTF Lane Kiffin is going to do and they were so colossally terrible last season that at the Georgia game, their band resorted to playing Rocky Top simply to celebrate completed passes. I should know, I sat right next to it and had to listen to that god foresaken song over...and over...and over...

Noles broke the top 20 and play Miami the first game of the season. CAN'T WAIT!!

Miami has definitely lost its lustre... FSU/Miami is always an exciting game though.

What I look forward to most with college football is getting together with friends at a bar or at the house, drinking beer and watching the game.

The guy that normally organizes our trip down just found out he's probably being transferred at work, so there exists some doubt as to whether our trip is going to happen or not - if it does, I'm all for a meet-up!

Heh, yep, this would be the third in a row! Last one was because it conflicted with a long-planned trip to Colorado that had gotten pushed from the beginning of the month to the end. Things keep conspiring to keep me out of Jacksonville! Can't remember why I missed the previous one, but that was while I was still in college, so I probably couldn't get the weekend off work (predictably, that's a big weekend to ask for days off in Athens).

Fun fact: in Athens, Georgia/Florida weekend is a long weekend not just for UGA, but for the entire Athens-Clarke County school system because a few years ago, 173 teachers called in "sick" on the Friday before the game (and this is not a big school system - only two high schools in the county). I think many had doctors appointments in Jacksonville.

Amanda, be glad you missed last year!! My friends and I sulked the entire way back to St. Simons and then refused to go out Saturday night. I think that game was 70% Georgia playing horribly and 30% bad bad calls by the ref--I refuse to allocate any credit to UF for that victory
