I wasn't sure where to exactly place this but I hope someone can give me some advice here.
This is the second time in my apartment complex that my package has been stolen. The apartment complex I live in is a large management type so me complaining to them they are professional bullshi*ers so they get away with anything cause it seems like that is their job.
Anyway, so in the leasing office where they store all the larger packages that don't fit in mail boxes near by are just left on a desk for anyone to grab. They have a sheet for people to sign next to the apartment number where the package is for but they don't check this at all. If someone wants to, they can just grab a package and walk out of the office without anyone checking their ID.
This seems ridiculous to me for a complex of 100-200 people for them to just leave packages out in the open. My college of all places had a more secure package pick up than the place I live now.
I don't know if it would be wroth to sue my apartment (I live in California mind you) or if I should just let it go. If I sue them I'm guess it will cost me a lot of money and they'll probably win cause they're a big company. But really, this bothers me a lot and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem and I would really like to do something about this.
Does anyone have any advice? The package was worth about $200 sent from my parents. The other package stolen about a year ago was worth around $600 that I had bought.
andkenfly, i'm so sorry to hear that. do you own the place already? if not maybe slowly, you can look around for a new place to live, because honestly i don't think these are the type of people you want surrounding you. has this happened to anyone else in your building? maybe this "thief" actually knows you and knows you get nice packages!
we used to live in this nice quiet neighborhood but the looting rate is quite high, and the neighborhood officials seems mum about it. i guess it was "quiet" so nobody notices really. after some time we decided to live elsewhere.
otherwise, i hope you find a way to remedy your concern. :)
