haha! Since you brought it back to life, I might as well add my two cents:P I got my nose done last year, and I love it. At first it looked weird because using a cleanser on it really dried out the skin thus making it flakey (ew) but its gone now. I have an L shaped stud in it (the straight ones tend to pop out on me, and the rings looked terrible on me!) and it stays in perfectly. What I love is that I got a very small one, and honestly, people hardly notice it, unless they want one themselves or have one.
Funny side story-I went to my Oral Surgeon to have my wisdom teeth pulled, and the receptionist was looking at my X-Ray, and she goes "You have some sort've weird nail in your nose?" LMAO |

I had my nose pierced when i was younger. I took it out about 2 years ago and the hole still looks like it did when it was pierced. It doesn't bother me that much but it's definitely noticeable. My best friend had hers pierced and when she took it out it closed completely and you barely see a dent from where the hole was. Every one is different and there's no telling how it will look once you decide to take it out. So, if you don't mind potentially living with a small hole in your nose for the rest of your life, go for it.

the longer you have it, the more likely you'll have a permanent hole/dent from it. normally even after you start to change the jewelry the hole is still going through a healing period. so if you stop wearing it sooner its more likely to close.

personally, I think it's unprofessional and borderline tacky... but I guess it all depends on the industry in which you work. Also, I think you have to have a perfectly shaped nose for it to look even remotely decent... JMHO, of course

I did it just this year. I'm 24. I work in a corporate environment, not too conservative but more conservative than not.
I also work in business development and it's never been an issue.... It's small and subtle. My boss didn't even notice until someone pointed it out to him as a joke. |

i have mine done and i love it!!
i have a ring...i need to buy some new studs so that i can mix it up. if you get it done i suggest that you do NOT use a bone [it's a stud with a ball on the end and then the sparkle on the other end, your nose hole will shrink to the size of the stud and if you want to switch it out you have to pull the ball through your hole...NOT FUN!]. use the twisted ones... |

I'm 30, got it done when I was 24 and don't regret it one bit. I work in a professional environment and have never gotten anything other than compliments.
I have always worn a stud, a small diamond... I'd consider wearing a ring in it, but only on the weekend. |

My brother had a nose ring (very tiny stud that kind of corkscrews into the nose) and eventually took it out after a year. The hole it left is so tiny it is not noticeable at all (unlike those stretched out earlobes, kinda gross after the plug comes out). It's like a tiny freckle. If you pierce a fleshier area like your eyebrow or lip then the hole will be more noticeable. I had a pierced eyebrow from my late teens into early twenties (hey it was big in the nineties) and the one hole is hidden by my brow and the other one is hardly noticeable (I have pointed it out to people who had no idea). The only people who have ever noticed it had eyebrow rings themselves. It has never hindered my career, but I got rid of it in college. I think you should wait until you have a job get the piercing as the economy is not great right now and the smallest things can mean more than you would think because they have to interview so many candidates. I vote for tiny stud and not a ring.

haha. wow, this IS old! I'll add my 2 cents anyway, though. I had my nose pierced for a while back in college. I only ever wore a super small stud in it so it wasn't that noticeable. One day when I went to change the stud, the piercing closed up! Anyway, there is absolutely NO mark whatsoever where my piercing was, not even a tiny scar. If the gage of your piercing is small and the piercing is in the nook of your nose, the hole should close up with no scarring.
I think nose piercings are cute but I definitely think there's an age limit. Like I said, I was in college (I think 19). I wouldn't do it after college. |

^^ it can, but i have the hoop so not really. i do have to adjust it and make sure the opening is inside and not hanging out, same with the twisted/corkscrew ones.
and others have asked about boogers and what not, you just clean it off if there is anything...no biggie. pretty much just like any other piercing... |
