Exclamation Need help, please-- leaving in 2 hours!
So I'm going to a friend's house tonight to watch some movies. Problem is, she's dead set on watching Silence of the Lambs, and I HAAATE scary movies! She claims it isn't scary but I hate anything that even resembles a scary movie. I could barely make it through Scary Movie!
So how do I convince her to watch another movie?
And is Silence of the Lambs that gruesome/scary?

I'm such a wimp

Just say you don't want to watch it? If you are concerned about that particular movie, you can go to Wikipedia and read the plot so you aren't in suspense.

Silence of the Lambs SPOILERS.

Mr. Hannibal Lecter feasts on insides of a living creature's head. Should be scary enough for ya. MMM BRAAINS.

I've seen this movie ages ago. Yep, it's scary all right. But more gruesome and gut-wrenching like pollinilove said. Good luck. You can just tell your friend you don't like watching it and you can just go to some room and stay there until the movie's over.

Or better yet, just don't go at all. Wouldn't that be easier?

Bring another movie and tell her you don't want to watch the movie she chose. If she insists, apologize and go home.

I'd just say I don't like those types of movies so I'd rather not go if that's all we can watch... I don't think it's a big deal to watch something else, unless the point of the night is to watch a scary movie because of Halloween, in which case I'd just not go.

Thanks everyone! I emailed her telling her I don't want to watch it, and I'm bringing a bunch of DVDs just in case she doesn't have any.

It's Dr Hannibal Lecter and it isn't just limited to brains.
I think technically that movie is a thriller, not a scary movie per se. I would definitely bring something lighter-hearted and watch that instead.
I have a friend who cannot watch anything scary and on occassion, I forget. Usually she just asks that we watch something else and it isn't a problem. I don't see why your friend wouldn't want to watch something you were more comfortable watching.

Dang Oscar, I love Silence of the Lambs. It's the only so called scary movie that I can and will watch when I'm home alone and in the dark. It's not really that bad.

It's awesome :) Love this movie, and I have to say, it had it's scary parts! It's also pretty graphic re: what happened to some of the victims.

spoiler....(the night vision part at the end when he was reaching for her...)
I screamed...I have to say I did!
