If you can't see her breast, why do you care? Are you really so seriously uncomfortable with the thought that a woman might feed her child that way?
It's my opinion are you really going to jump on me because of my opinion? Yes I am comfortable with the thought of a woman feeding her child, but if your going to breast feed them at least go to a bathroom so that I don't need to see their breast stuffed in their kid's mouth. I don't like the thought of seeing a stranger's genitalia.

Whenever I've seen a mother breastfeeding in public, I've never seen her bare breast. Hell, half the time I don't even notice it cause she's being so discrete.

But yes, if a mother doesn't hide her breast, that would be a little off putting.

So to clarify, I think you mean if you see a mother's breast while she's breast feeding, you feel it's gross. Correct?

Side note...breasts are not genitalia.

Go to the bathroom to nurse....so a mother should go sit on a toilet [because where else other than maybe the floor () can you sit in a public bathroom] to feed her infant.....so a passerby doesn't have to think, "Ew, she must be feeding her child with her breast under that blanket."

Okay.

Well, my OPINION is that is ridiculous and selfish. But that's just what I think.

Agreed. That's what the breast is for: feeding the baby. It's our culture that has made it overly and primarily sexualized, but in most of the rest of the world, that is not true. I think the WHO would have a thing or two to say about shaming mothers against feeding their infants when they are hungry. Feeding a baby, I think, takes much higher precedence than an observer's comfort level.

I don't even care if the boob is completely exposed because that's what it's for.. it's primary function. It's funny... I've lived in places where almost every part of a woman is required to be completely covered up outside the household and yet it was still perfectly acceptable to expose a breast to feed a baby.

I've changed many a diaper and it's completely possible to wrap up a diaper to where no parts of the insides are exposed, so for me, I think it's more of a reaction to what's inside, compared to the idea that what's inside will actually get out somehow. In other words, even if there was poop in there, as long as she wrapped it up well, it wouldn't be exposed to the fabric of the seat back.
This was going to be my question, too. What are we talking here?

And if it makes a person uncomfortable to look, then that person doesn't have to, does she/he? (I think it makes women more uncomfortable than it makes men. But I'm just guessing.)

Are you two for real?

OMG! Do you seriously believe a breast is genitalia?

On the diaper issue:

The lady should have put the diapers in a bag or something.

There is NO WAY ON EARTH that you can change a diaper in one of those tiny bathrooms. What would you put the baby on? The floor? Airplane bathroom floors are one of THE most disgusting places on earth. (Thanks, guys).

It is pretty obvious a lot of you don't have kids/have never changed a diaper in your life.

On the BFing issue, what would you "I don't approve of people breastfeeding in public' people suggest that breastfeeding mother do on a 5 hour flight? My girls never once took a bottle so should I just have them not eat so YOU would be comfortable? Give me a break and get over it.

You know, it makes me uncomfortable.. but not because it's a boob (it's just a boob! Come on!), but because it gives me the heebie jeebies. I am no fan of watching it. BUT I realize that's my own weird issue and like you say, I can easily look away.

Just for the record, I always covered up with a light blanket. I see mom's who use a heavy blanket but I am not going to suffocate my kids so some stranger with issues is comfortable.

You know, having seen a NOT shielding breast feeding situation, there's really not much to see since the kid's head, hands, and body shield a lot as does a mom's arm when she's cradling her infant's head. You don't even really get any side boob action. You see more boob on a Coco graced red carpet, you know?

Yeah, I know. I don't like looking at other women's breasts either. And I'm sure that if I ever did see a women nursing her baby with the entire breast hanging out for the world to see I would think, "You know, it's not so hard to toss a blanket over your shoulder and the baby and cover up, lady." However, I can also walk/look away. I'm not going to get all upset because some lady is feeding her child. I nursed 3 children. When they're hungry, they're hungry. It's natural.

And it is certainly not one of the things in life that I choose to get upset/grossed out over. It's a breast. I've got 2 of my own!

I think women should have to cover up while breast feeding in public. If it is illegal to go topless why is it ok to see a boob under any circumstances? Personally I don't care. I don't want to see it but it doesn't freak me out either.

That's true. Why doesn't anyone get upset and grossed out over that sort of situation?

I have seen teenagers dressed more inappropriately than your average woman breastfeeding. I see buttcrack and bare stomachs all the time and clothes that are way too tight. I would rather see a woman nourishing her child any day of the week.
