I like the white! It will look like a spot of cleanliness & serenity in your otherwise trashed dorm room

Trust me, I know!

Thanks, the last 2 sets are from Target! I'd get the organizer, but I'm rooming w/3 other girls! We'll see how that plays out.

That's kind of odd. I wonder why they bother to make twin x-long then!

Okay, so I think I'm going to go for the LAST ONE! I really liked that one from the beginning.

Now I need help since they're individual pieces.

Here's what Target put together:

So I can go with the black ensemble underneath or I can get these sheets:

^ They're featured in the 3rd black set though.

Too much white/light colors going on? Maybe black sheets would be a godsend?

I think black sheets are kinda weird because you'd never know if they were stained or dirty or anything ... I like the strippy ones though.

I love black sheets it looks really classy but I can't have black on my bed anymore cause I have a white cat. I really like the picture on the left in the post 1 up from mine.

I have black sheets, and EVERYTHING sticks to them. You don't notice as much on colored sheets, but any lint from your pjs will stick to them, and you can't just brush it off - I think b/c of all the other bedding, it gets this static-sonic-stickiness.

Since the bedding is black & white, you can go with ANY color sheets. my bedding is the same colors (it's the one with the giant photographic lily on it by Isaac Mizrahi @ Target), and I have a neon blue sheet set (also from Target) and a grey sheet set, but I could pretty much go with whatever color.

LOL. I know my mom is going to hold off on taking me to buy all my dorm stuff. She's whining already about me growing up and going to college.

Could someone enlighten to me what purpose a tapestry serves? Wondering if I should get one (it matches the comforter)!

The first is cute but its going to get dirty! I like the black/white ones. Just keep in mind you will have friends over eating/drinking/hangingout/watching movies, etc. and usually theyll be sitting on your bed! My friends were always piled on my bed drinking wine and watching movies and it stayed that way until we got an apartment our senior year. Just keep that in mind- something too light is going to show spills, etc.

i vote the pink. it will brighten up your bedroom...do not do white...it will get dirty. lots of people will probably be sitting on your bed and you will probably be spending a lot of time on it. the black is nice but i think dorms look cuter in more feminine colors, the black might just make the dorm look boring. i had a light pink comforter in my dorm and loved it.

I think target may have gotten their wording slightly wrong. A tapestry is a form of textile art meaning that it is a piece of wall art that is made out of fabric such as cotton, wool, silk etc. It's kind of hard to tell what they are using it as on the target website in one picture it looks like they are using it to cover a futon and in another picture it looks like they are using it as a coverlet (bed cover). In one of the pictures they have it folded up and draped across the bed, it's not really going to serve a functional purpose for you, it would be more decorative.

I wouldn't go with the black sheets. I used to have navy blue ones and stuff will show, contrary to popular belief. Lint, drool, etc. I'd go with the striped ones; I like the combination of the prints.

Ahh, I see! In that case, I won't be needing it since it's just an accessory for my bed. No need to spend more money than necessary.

Unfortunately, I e-mailed my school asking if I'm allowed to have packages delivered to my box before I arrive... they said no... Target doesn't have a pick-up option, and I'm afraid they'll run out of the items I want if I wait to actually GO to the store. Hmm, maybe I'll order close to my arrival date.

I like the pink one, too, but I'm sure whichever one you choose will be beautiful.

But if the mattresses in your dorms are anything like the ones where I went to school, I would suggest also getting one of those foam egg crate mattress pads.

Otherwise it'll feel like you're sleeping on a camp bed.

I like the second set in your second post. I think it can be used year after year and if its in good condition maybe even after college!

From my experience investing in a quality comforter and getting cheaper sheets is the way to go. When I was in college (hhaha so weird to say, I just graduated) I had a quilt/comforter from Ralph Lauren - I only used it for 2 years and now I am passing it along to my sister going to college. I got matching sheet sets, also RL, from Macy's since its always on sale! I also got ones from Bed, Bath and Beyond.
