^^ Like you, Bella, I've never experienced anything like this. Interestingly enough, I don't believe in it either. I'm reminded of Carl Sagan's quote: "You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe.".
It's a fun thread to read though. It's interesting and I'm really liking it.

My family swears that the house I grew up in was haunted. It seems that everyone in my family saw/felt/heard something but me. My dad sold the house years ago and the family who bought it, sold it again in a hurry. It has since gone through a couple other owners. The most recent owner was a family with two young kids. They put the house back on the market after renovating it and living in it for a couple of years. They had an open house and my younger sister actually went through it. My sister asked the woman if they had noticed anything "different" about the house. The woman smiled and said, "you mean the ghosts?" She said that ever since they renovated it, strange things were happening. Even more strange was the fact that she said that her youngest son, who had my sister's old bedroom, claimed to see a little girl (ghost) in his room every once in a while. My sister had not said a word about that but she used to see a little girl in her bedroom too. Creepy. I tend not to believe in those things, but after hearing so many stories, it makes me wonder.
I heard that the house recently sold to a family with three, young girls, which is exactly like our family when we lived there.

I have never encounter anything in my life and let's keep it that way. (knock on wood)But many of the encounters usually happens around 3am. Maybe that is why I will never wake up to go to the bathroom at that time. If i really have to, I will take my dogs with me.

For example, some of you mentioned seeing things after a loved one passes away. People experience a profound grief when that happens, and we don't really know what human psyche is capable of manufacturing to express grief. i have to admit i was completely skeptical it until it happened to me. my experience i wasnt even in grief anymore. mine was my grandfather who passed when i was 10, which was 14 years before i got my visit so that wasnt it.

plus theres plenty of people that got visits before they even knew that the person had passed.

That last part is interesting, because I can recall one story that happened to my grandmother. I lived with her while I was in law school, and her sister was dying of cancer in another state. My grandma flew there and stayed for a few weeks, but then she had to come back because she couldn't stay forever. About a week later, I heard my grandma get up in the middle of the night and throw up once. I went to see if she was ok, and she was fine and went back to bed. I remember looking at the clock, so I knew what time it was, though I don't remember now. The next morning she got a phone call that her sister had passed away... at the exact moment she threw up.

That's not a ghost story per se, but it was certainly weird. I don't know what I believe. I'm open to believing, but the thought of it also really scares me! Please don't come and scare me, ghosts!:)
