Yep!

I had a 'presence' in this house, just 18 months ago......it was an old man who was frightening my son (unintentionally, i must add) who apparently lived in the area a few years before and had died of emphysema.

The lights would go on and off by themselves, my son would say there was a man in the middle of the room, he refused to go to sleep in there and there were some very strange things happening. I even heard a very loud chainsaw noise one night, coming from what seemed to be my sons room, at 3am ....i got up to investigate and, nothing was to be seen, or heard...nada.

The 'spirit' had a message for me too...one that no-one else could ever have known!

I've had nothing spooky happen since a medium friend of mine cleansed the room for me and moved the 'spirit' on.

Like I said, I only heard about the nun thing, and that wasn't even my dorm room. (I might've felt differently if I were staying in that particular room.)

They do offer a Haunted Newport Tour:

http://www.hauntednewport.net/

You wouldn't necessarily be able to visit the places I talked about because they belong to the school (but if you get the chance, please feel free to drive by. The buildings are absolutely GORGEOUS)

You also might want to check out Belcourt Castle. (They offer both regular tours and ghost tours.)

I have a couple of stories... when I ws 11, I lived with my dad in Texas with his girlfriend and her 2 kids. Anyway, one of the girls and I were home alone one day and we heard the doorbell ring.. the thing is, we DON'T HAVE A DOOR BELL.

When I lived with my mom, I always hear people call my name when I was in my room. It's was always really clear coming from downstairs (and my door is wide open). I would go to the stairs and say "yeah?" and no one said anything. So I go downstairs and no one is home. This always happens when I'm the only one home, but I never get scared because I don't think it's anything bad... just something hanging around, bored, I guess. Sometimes I randomly hear people coming up the stairs and into my moms room. So I always think it's my mom or stepdad, but when I go out to look, no one's ever there. I also hear the door open and shut, the sink come on, clanking of dishes and drawers open and close when I'm home alone. haha. I know it's not all in my head because everytime it happens I never tell anyone... it just slips my mind and it doesn't bother me at all. Well it finally happened to my sister one time (she swore she heard someone come home and run up the stairs into my moms room when she was home alone) and I told her the same things happen to me all the time.

Okay now this part is going to sound weird too, but whatever... my mom is kind of like... very intuitive and I guess you can say psychic. I know it sounds weird but I guess it's more of an Asian thing. She has certain dreams... like okay she has won the lottery at least 3 times all from dreaming the numbers (she's never won millions, it's always those pick 3 or 4 numbers). One time she had a VERY strong dream about my cousin being pregnant. She was very very pissed and confronted my cousin (who was only 17). My cousin didn't even KNOW she was pregnant and told my mom she certainly was NOT pregnant but my mom was so pissed and said "Don't lie to me." haha. Well, two weeks later, my cousin was so scared from what my mom said that she went to the clinic and found out she was in fact pregnant! There have been other dreams too that are very personal and I don't really want to talk about them, but they gave me goosebumps. Anyway, I have a point! My mom says that there are a lot of kids in this house (ghost kids). She said they watch over the house and she can hear them playing sometimes.

Oh oh there's a myth that if you want to find out whether or not there are ghosts in your house, you can sleep in the hallway and in the middle of the night, you can feel them jumping over you.

oh oh and that reminds me. My bf has had experiences too. One night he had a dream about his uncle telling him to take care of his wife and his 3 daughters. and my bf didn't know what he was talking about. He then told my BF to come with him. My bf (who was 14, 15? at the time) got scared and said NO. then he woke up. The next day, he found out that his uncle died during the night in a car accident!!! I wonder why he told my bf to come with him? scary.

Anyway, I have LOTS of stories, but I don't want to bore anyone haha

Okay..I just finished reading this thread & I have goosebumps...

But my mom & grandma always told me that if someone has passed away and they tell you to come with them not to go because they're trying to take you to the "other side" with them....

It's never happened to me, but my grandma said that she would have dreams that her late husband would always try to take my mom with him and she always fought him in her dreams.

I want more, Marc (and anyone else that has spooky stories)! I love them. (Can you tell my favourite books when I was a teenager were the Twilight series and the Dark Forces series? )

Also, Lisa - did you go look at the headstone yet to get the names? I'm dying here! (oops, no pun intended).

I've heard of this too. When I was younger, I was always afraid that I would not be able to control my action in dreams that I would end up "going"

Yes, I purchased my Grandmother's home from my Dad. She definately shared that space with me. I would put a piece of jewlery down and find it months later in the same spot and we aren't talking about my hiding it in a drawer. I would leave it on a dresser or counter. I have moved from that home and wish now I stayed.

I think my stories are kind of tame compared to y'alls!!

First off, I had a friend die whenever I was in the 7th grade. I have always had a strong connection to her. Her grave is a very peaceful place where I like to go and reflect and think through events in my life. Once I was there and dealing with this very personal crisis and so upset...and suddenly there is this SUPER strong wind...but none of the leaves are blowing on the trees. Her grave is in the back of the cemetary with TONS of trees around, so it wasn't a fluke thing. Needless to say it was a reassurance that everything was going to be ok!!

I have her picture and my great grandparents (who are also dead) pictures besides one another on top of my armoire. Whenever I am upset or super stressed out about something...and I am NOWHERE NEAR the pictures...they fall down. Not just one of them...but both. At first it freaked me out but now I just know they are with me to help me through things.

My great-grandmother came to my grandma once at night...she told her to take my grandfather to the hospital and not to worry because he was going to be ok. He had a heart condition...and because it was caught early he was alright. It was a major surgery but he handled it like a trooper.

Last one!!! I had another friend die in 12th grade. A couple of days after her death I was leaving school...I was just listening to some music and kind of praying out loud about how I felt like it was so wrong for her to go and it just wasn't her time and that I felt kind of unsettled about it. Suddenly I hear this loud POP and I look over in the passenger seat and her picture is sitting there face up perfectly positioned. Ok...but this is what's weird. I had that picture in my backpack in a folder which was zipped up and in my trunk.

So weird...but it's so comforting to me now!!!

wow..i love reading about these experiences! i've never lived in a haunted house..been to a few that i suspect were haunted tho.

i've had a few ghostly experiences myself...but i'll just tell one.

it's not so much about me, as it is about my brother and mom. my mom was 42 when she had kyle, so needless to say, he was an accident. before she even knew she was preganant, she had a very vivid dream one night about a boy walking around her bed, touching her face and calling her 'mama'. in the dream, the boy was wearing the traditional chinese clothing that babies wore about 2 centuries before. (kinda like a silk halter) she said that she couldn't see his face, but that he was very round, chubby and cute. the dream was so real that at 3am she woke up and made my dad switch on all the lights to see if there was a child walking around their bedroom. of course there wasn't.

after that, she went and did a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant. she didn't need the doctor to tell her that she was going to have a son. she didn't tell anyone about this until she was 4 months.

my aunt who lives in new zealand had a dream a few days after my mum's dream. she dreamed that a baby boy was standing in front of here, and telling her that he was going to enter the family. she said to him that she's old and doesn't want another child...but the baby insisted that he will be joining her family. the child also told her to insist to the mother (who she thought was my aunt since she was the youngest out of all the women) to keep him as he had waited a long, long time to enter our family.

she calls my mum up to discuss this a week later because she suspects that my aunt is preggers...that's when my mum tells her about her dream.

kyle is almost 7 now..and my mum swears that when he was 2, he looked just like that child in her dream.
