I have not heard of them stopping online shoppers but I have heard some online sellers complaint that their sites are getting so many hits all at once that the buyers aren't able to access it.

I have heard of online sellers speaking of attempted hacking and some have complained their sites have been actually accessed, and hacked into, I had seller write me back this past Christmas whom I had bought from earlier warning me that if anyone else write pretending to be them do not buy from this person their site had been hacked and valuable information have been stolen. So if they can do this offline I am sure it wouldn't be hard for a hacker to this online. So these groups or individuals can do more damage than we would like to believe. Perhaps the shop mobbing groups are the same people who are doing the online hacking.

some of these "shop mobbers" should watch out. in larger cities, women deal with so much bullcrap that they are not afraid to tell someone to get the hell out of their way, no matter what you look like. someone shouting prices wouldn't scare me in the slightest, and there's always security at most high end shops (neiman's, chanel, etc.) so the idea that they'll get very far with this is hilarious. if they don't like the air of the store, clientele or prices, there's the door!

if a man attempted to follow me to the dressing room, i'd call the cops on the spot.

You are missing the point, these people don't do this with obviousness and make it overtly noticeable. If think it can't happen in a high end store in any city then you don't live in the real world. They appear at first to be real shoppers just like you and by the time you start to notice what is going on there are several of them around. Call the cops? What can they do if no one has touched, or harmed you, and if the cop comes they aren't going to admit they are doing it! These guys aren't going to stand there until the cops get there, I said they were mobbers I did not say they were stupid. There is a big difference between madness and stupidity.

To prove your point the store would have to pull the security camera tapes or a security guard have to see them to testify as a witness and these groups aren't going to stick around long enough for all that unless the security guards restraint them.

But apparently others besides me has experienced this or that group of shoppers would haven't been driven the last group of mobbers from the store.

This is a form of stalking and stalking is not done openly, it is done covertly. Stalkers chose their victims on criterias unbeknownst to anyone but themselves. So who knows what their real reasons maybe. That's why the victims often don't know who the stalker is. Don't you think if it was done openly and obviously the victims would've call the cops the moment they saw it developing?

I said it was real I never said I knew why it was happening and nor did I say it made sense. I was telling the story to make others aware of it, so they would know what it was if they experienced it.

Quoting Styleforever: I said it was real I never said I knew why it was happening and nor did I say it made sense.

That's not true. You specifically said it was an effort to prevent women from spending because of the economy, with their own family members involved in hounding them--nonsensical. Your first post said that you were told it was by "local groups around the area upset about the financial state of the union." Others posted that they knew of mobbing in order to steal, but you repeated that you believed it to be intimidation for the sake of preventing spending. This is what is not remotely believable, and furthermore something completely absent from any media coverage anywhere, nor in the experience of sales personnel.

A form of stalking? Hackers trying to get onto online sites to prevent people from spending money? Maybe I am overly suspicious but I find this all to be utter nonsense. I also find it strange that not one other single person has ever experienced anything remote to this yet you have experienced it multiple times and have heard it is also happening from online retailers. Seems strange considering this is a huge forum and the majority of people here shop quite a bit....

Ah yes...I have found my answer.

You are the poster who also started a thread on the Coach forum that men should never be allowed in "woman" stores and that you would proceed to plow over as many as possible and tell them off. That women who shopped with their husbands were being oppressed and controlled by their man. You upset a ton of people over there yet continued on with your rant until the thread was closed.

You are also the poster who posted about dogs in handbag stores which also upset a lot of people.

Now you post this utterly unbelievable story. I believe that you enjoy creating controversy. Here is some of your work to date...

Why all the men at Coach stores lately?????

Thank you, biggestbaglover. It seems like someone here has far too much time on her hands. It's possible that some type of 'shop mobbing' can exist, but I would think it would be an isolated case with a bunch of clueless people or someone trying it as an experiment, or it would more likely be for shoplifting.
