Smile for all you IKEA fans out there...
ok so there's this contest currently going on at the IKEAFans website that is giving away bookcases & IKEA gift cards, for the best stories/photos re: usage of the BILLY bookcase. They will choose the winners by the number of votes each entry gets. Below is the link to the contest info & all the contest entries:

http://www.ikeafans.com/forums/ikea-...kcase-contest/

Anyway, since I am an avid fan of IKEA furniture and love using the BILLY bookcases to store my purse collection, I figured I just had to enter this contest! My entry thread is the one by "sweetneet", the one with the little purse room pic, like in my sig . Though right now as you can see i'm lagging behind in votes.. :( so if any of you guys want to help a fellow PF'er score some IKEA, if you can take the time to check out my purse room thread and vote for me i'd gladly appreciate it!!

Note that you have to register on the IKEAFans website and login to the site to vote, but it's free (just have to provide an email address, that's all). Thanks!!

I've just registered and voted for you!

I too am a massive IKEA fan and am sitting at an IKEA table on my IKEA chair having just eaten my dinner off an IKEA plate!

IKEA bookcases + lovely handbags = awesome in my book. Good luck and I hope you win!

^aw thanks Cornflower Blue, I really appreciate it!!

yeah i'm almost embarrassed to say how much of the furniture in my house is IKEA..my entire living room and kitchen area is full of IKEA chairs, sofas, TV stands, etc...so is our master bedroom closet..and i'm sure after my baby is born i will be getting even more IKEA stuff (IKEA apparently makes highchairs! )

IKEA is brilliant for kids bedrooms too. DS has an bed, chest of drawers, bookcase, bedside table and toybox. Our bedroom and kitchen are also very IKEA-heavy! What can I say apart from that they are awesome!

I'll have to sign up and vote! I like going to Ikea a lot. They have some stuff that is crap (IMO), but some great stuff. I like to get decorative pillows and stuff there, plus they have cute curtains for cheap and lots of nice kitchen tools for good prices too.

ETA: is that light from Ikea? I have a kid's chandelier that looks like it might be the same from the little I can see in my master bathroom. It has colored crystals/balls.

It is this one:

...and if I'm not mistaken, isn't that an IKEA dressing table too?

elizat - the chandelier in my room is actually not from IKEA (gasp!! ), i got it from eBay. though i love the IKEA chandeliers. i wanted to put one in the baby's room but DH nixed the idea, thot it was too girly (we are having a boy) ...
