so this is totally self-indulgent but after exhausting my phone book, i still want to tell more people so i'm posting it here to anyone who cares to listen. after graduating with a b.s. in chemical engineering in late may, i've been haphazardly sailing the unemployment seas. after numerous applications were sent in, dozens of interviews conducted, and a couple "almost-offers," i've finally been offered an actual job as a microfabrication engineer with a prestigious research institute (who shall remain unnamed).

time for some celebratory shopping!! =]

ugh! i know what you mean! everyone kept telling me "enjoy the time off you have. you're smart and qualified and you WILL get a job soon" but it's so much easier for someone that has a job to say that. i was stressing out big time until i got the offer today. hang in there! the economy is starting to pick up again and with any luck, you'll be scooped up too! =]

and thanks to everyone else for your congratulations. now i get to complain about the work i have to do like a normal member of the american workforce (except that i'll be secretly overjoyed to have a job in this economy).
