The only time I've reported a post/thread was when it was by a troll or someone who has more than one ID to cause trouble or support themselves on the same thread. But then again, that would be a troll too. lol
there's a lot of gray areas - there are a lot of situation that don't fit into one rule or another perfectly. in most situations, the thread will be moved. in a lot of situations, though, if a member posts the thread in the wrong place, they probably haven't checked the correct place to see if it had already been covered. in those situations, and probably some others, the thread is just closed. like has been previously explained, every mod is going to make decisions differently, but we all do what we think is best at the time. really, all we're trying to do is keep the peace and make sure everything is organized so that it's easy to find what you're looking for and enjoy the forum.

Oh no not because I don't agree. I think agreeing to disagree is what makes a forum. Yes, I have seen people take things too personally. I have a tough skin. I don't offend easily nor do the opinions of others bother me. The famous saying, "Opinions are like..." so what can you do ya know.

Look now... I am not making an issue out of anything. I had a question for the members of the forum. I really wasnt asking the mods anything, but of course you guys had something to add. I posted what I wanted to know as the title, and anything that came after that was a flow from conversational replies. The title of the thread should have been, "DO THE MODS GET A LITTLE RUDE SOMETIMES". I dont need you to bring up to me if this is the place for me. That is rude if you ask me. Me reporting issues or not is not an issue for me like I said because I am not bothered by what people post. Its a shame that I cant start a thread and have a conversation with members without someone wanting to remind me where the door is. To funny.

We get 13,000 new posts a day here, and if we let everyone post them wherever they felt like, no one would ever be able to find anything. It doesn't matter if some people may not mind replying to a post that's not in the right place - if the post doesn't belong where you put it, it's going to be dealt with in order to keep the board organized. No matter what that person's motivations were, your post violated rules. Simple. If you wish not to follow the rules, then as your last post said - simply don't return. I mean, you do have free will here, and the rules are publicly posted and you agree to them when you register. We certainly want everyone to keep posting here, but posting things in the right section is a very simple request on the part of the moderators, and if you take such enormous issue with it, then perhaps you want to reconsider whether this is the correct place for you.

And if you see a member behaving suspiciously - trying to clandestinely drive sales to their employer, for one - then PM a mod or report their posts. I assure you that that member will be dealt with to the best of our ability if we can find proof that what you suspect is true.

Brick, the rules are simple. What we do to make sure this place runs is very simple. If you willfully choose not to follow them, that sounds like a personal problem to me. We're not here to babysit you or hold your hand.
