I used to try and Feng Shui my house by myself, have not done it in years. I didn't know about the fortune telling side of it.

I know a little about feng shui, but haven't seen enough evidence for a solid opinion either way. I haven't been to a fortune teller, but I think it would quite exciting to have my palm read! I've had my face read, and there were lots of good things in my future, but I'm taking it all with a grain of salt. I can't just lie back and let my face do all the work:P

and I did get pregnant almost a year later.. opps! We werent trying but it was a pleasant surprise. |

I don't know if I believe in either. I haven't read up enough information to have a strong opinion. But I did meet a classmate who was having trouble conceiving for years and her and her husband hired a famous fortune teller to ask her if they would have any children and the fortune teller told them when they would get pregnant and the sex of the baby, too! She was right on both counts!

Yes, I believe in feng shui and fortune teller. My mom has a friend who is a fortune teller and the first time she read my hands was 15 years ago and everything that she told me including my relationships, education, financial, jobs, etc came true. And there is also a very good fortune teller and feng shui master in Vancouver, where I used to live his name is Sherman Tai, if you google him, it will show his website. Many big businesses and even goverment use his service as a fengshui expert. He's also a very good fortune teller, a friend of mine sees him regularly and he's apparently very good though his fees are pretty high.

I have a Feng Shui book and cards and I"m always meaning to change around rooms in the house and never actually got to it. I am determined to get it done after we get home from vacation to see if it works! I went to a fortune teller once. My best friend at the time was having a party and everyone had a meeting with the fortune teller. At the time everything she told me i didn't believe for a second. A year later I almost flipped out as I was driving home, my mind wandered while I was at a light and I realized that EVERYTHING she told me had happened!!! It was the most shocking thing!

i have a question about fortune tellers...are they very broad or very specific? i mean a lot of random things could have happened that a person could just simple tell based on fact, (i.e lose a house, buy a car, have a baby, get a job) those are everyday life occurrences... does that make sense?

as far as i know...feng shui has to do with the people who live/work in that space. so it has to do with your birthdays and other stuff.
if you believe in it and do it not thoroughly..it can lead to something not benefit towards you. that's why it's always good to consult and feng shui master. i personally don't really do it bc of that. |

yeah, if u try to apply fengshui yourself, you might make things worse
cos there are many things to consider.. even your birthdate, your dominant element, directions, and the elements of the things you use to fengshui your surroundings.. |

I do not believe in Feng Shui at all.. As far as Fortune Teller I do believe that this type of magic exist but the ones out there getting paid for it are not the ones that can do it..

In regards to Feng Sui, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to living situations. Feng Sui is an attempt at making a living space more functional and flowing to ensure that the owner is happy and more productive. That's not magic, just basic fact interpretation specific to that person or family.
As for fortune telling, in the history of time, there has never been one shred of evidence that proves people can reliably predict the future. Simple as that. |

I got a reading from an astrologer who came highly recommended to me. He told me it was unlikely I would have kids, sorry.
Since then...I have had two. I've had about as much luck with other experiences with fortune tellers -- I want one of these visits that I always hear about, where the fortune teller is right on about everything, but so far I'm batting 0%. |

Feng Shui? I don't really follow the philosophy; I probably could benefit from it because my room is so messy!
![]() As for fortune tellers...there are a lot of threads about this; I've been a little vague in my previous posts about spirituality and the metaphysics, but I'll say what I know (which is kinda limited, anyway ). I have seen a couple psychics (mainly to test some of them since I'm really curious like that, and my field of study refutes anything paranormal), and I can tell you that there are a lot of FRAUDS and PHONIES. I've had the most ridiculous things told about me (and mind you, it wasn't bad but positive information), and I felt as if many of these "psychics" are good cold-readers who like to boost the egos of their clients. Sadly, I think many of them who claim to be legit probably don't realize they're fake, mainly because a lot of their clients are quick to validate them, especially if the client is told positive information about his/her future. That said, I've met a couple of people who were fairly intuitive, which kinda freaked me out. One person/classmate I knew in college could quickly pick up that I had a secret illness that no one really knows about. Another person was able to sense that I was a psychology student but also had some background in art history (the latter detail not a lot of people know about, including my grad school friends). I've also had another reader predict that I was going to move a couple months before it was actually confirmed (and I thought she was full of it!). There are other things, too (such as visualizing/accurately describing the people in my life, etc), but I won't go into that. The "legit" readers I've spoken tended to describe me similarly, whereas the fake readers would describe me based on how I looked (or would use "Barnum statements"). I realize that a lot of the legit psychics don't really like to be called psychic/fortune tellers and are fairly reserved about their abilities (especially my college friend, who didn't really like to talk about it and didn't like giving readings...readings can be VERY exhausting). Usually if you want a good reading, it's better if you are referred by a friend because like I said, a lot of them are frauds and are out to get your money. And not everything is set in stone...usually the whole point of a psychic reading is to understand what you can do before the situation gets worse, you know? |
