Tink, and Fab,
Thanks so much for your encouragement!

Guess I missed the look I was aiming for but scored a goal with another look instead!
One more try:
This is with the curlers just taken out, nothing else done, so it needs a little tidying up and I'll have to hunt out the hairspray before the curl drops out ... but anyway, I'm much happier with it - it's still quite glamorous but more casual, and it's sitting closer to her head which I think is more flattering to her face -
I've tried many times but still can't seem to manage twisting it and then winding the twisted hair onto the straws - I lose control of the ends, so this was just done the same as the first time, but only rolled up half way. It's much more the look I was trying for, I'm so much happier with it than the original severe updo ... so okay, now I can leave it and make a start on the next project.
Over 20 years of battling a chronic illness have taken their toll on me in more ways than the obvious. I used to have a lot of creative pursuits, designed my own knitwear, did minutely fine hand sewing ... but somewhere along the way, lost all enthusiasm and interest for creative work.
These dolls have given that back to me ... for the first time in years, I have an interest that has me totally captivated, I have all these plans for things I want to do with them, and I'm totally revved with enthusiasm. It's just so amazing and exciting to have that enthusiasm back again. I thought I'd lost it forever.
Just to think - it all started the day I began reading "Come play Barbie!" That's quite a gift - and Tink, it will come back to you, because as everyone knows, you can't spread sunshine without getting some on yourself!
