I really miss going to games. I used to live across the street from the stadium. We had so much fun. Used to charge people to park in our yard and buy kegs with the earnings. Ah, do I miss those days.

I did the same thing! I miss running stadiums I used to do that every morning.

I'll be in the stands today at SANFORD STADIUM to watch the #1 RANKED UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA BULLDAWGS TEE IT UP BETWEEN THE HEDGES!

A great team playing on a beautiful Saturday in America's best college town - can't beat that with a stick :-). I'll be in the student section (despite the fact that I graduated in May...).

We'll also be introduced to our new mascot, Uga VII, whose daddy passed earlier this summer and was buried in the endzone. The first picture of him was released to the media yesterday:

And now, I'm off to tailgate breakfast, since it's a 12:30 game!

I've got to say, a solid but not perfect performance by UGA today. GA Southern is a GOOD 1-AA team, they beat the App State team last year that upset Michigan and have won a lot of national championships in their division in recent years. UGA being #1 makes me VERY NERVOUS (uneasy is the head that wears the crown, they say), and we're always a bit shaky in our first game.

We did what we needed to do, though - go to a 31-0 lead at halftime so we could get our stars OFF the field and put in our second and third team to make sure that no one essential gets hurt. That means that Southern got on the board a few times at the end, but that's fine. First order of business is to not hurt the people we'll count on in closer games.

Conditions in the stadium were terrible today - the game ran the entirety of the hottest part of the day, temperatures were well above 90* and there was no shade anywhere, just direct sunlight. My roommate and I left after the end of the 3rd quarter - we were both dizzy and our muscles were cramping from dehydration. I can't wait until it cools off a bit!

I hope everyone else is enjoying themselves and staying hydrated!

he was uninjured when i left, and from what i've read (espn.com), any grabbing of his leg that he did while running was a result of cramping, nothing more. hopefully that's accurate, but ESPN had a statement from UGA to that effect, so i believe it.

caleb king looked great subbing out for him, though!

Spartan alumni in our house (both dh and I, plus many other family members)! I'm jealous--our cable company doesn't have Big 10 network sports available.

BUT, how great is it that Michigan lost today in the Big House??!!! Now we just need to get State to beat Cal.
