Talking Co-Workers From Hell!
Totally inspired by the amazingly funny threads of the retail and restaurant experiences from hell...I know there must be tons of totally awful or simply very weird co-worker stories out there!!

I once was cream cheesing my bagel, because it was Bagel Fridays and when I turned around I noticed this girl washing a bowl. At first I was like oh that is so nice of her since we usually have people come around and do that…..when I realized that she was washing cherries…..with soap!!!! She definitely was a weird one!!!!

One of my coworkers sits at his desk and clips his nails with a nail clipper. He does this at least once a week. The sound makes me CRINGE. Most of the time I have to get up and leave my desk, it is just soooo gross to me!

While she's not the coworker from hell, one of my coworkers loves drama. Everything involving her must have drama. If it doesn't, then she'll create it. She turns some of the most mundane tasks into something that she has to make a big deal about.

As my past job, I went from having my own office to having to share an office with an older female coworker who was absolutely insane. She had four daughters, two of whom were college graduates with professional jobs. The other two were less than stellar...in and out of rehab, multiple children from multiple men, no jobs, etc. And those were the two she talked about all the time! For the first two years that I worked with her, I had no idea that she had four daughters. She would clip her nails in the office, which makes my skin crawl to just think about it. Instead of setting her crock pot to cook at home, she would bring it to our office and cook her dinner there. There were days when I couldn't stand the smell and would have to leave the office to keep from throwing up on my desk. And don't get me started on the times that she would get on the phone to scream at one her her kids or grandkids. I hated sharing a space with her so much that I voluntarily left the private office to move into a shared space with six other officers.

I worked with two different women on two different occasions who were getting married and all they did all day long was field calls from their wedding planners and wedding vendors. Then they would talk to their families and friends and co-workers all day long about what they said to their wedding planners and wedding vendors. This went on for months and months of pure torture...on two separate occasions! All you girls getting married out there, please don't bore your co-workers with your wedding of the century. It's fun to listen to a few things, but not all day long! Those two were definitely co-workers from Hell.

I guess every workplace must have a drama queen.

This is SO weird! Isn't the whole point of having a Crock Pot, the ease of leaving it at home?!

We have employees here who have no concern whatsoever for the cleanliness of the fridge. People leave their Tupperware uncovered, things leak, crumbs everywhere. If someone spills on the counter, they don't wipe it up.

^^^My office is the same way about the kitchen. People around here never clean up after themselves! We even have a kitchen cleaning schedule posted, but it doesn't seem to help at all. Everyone just ignores it.

Years ago I worked with this chick who would wear her perfume so heavy that I could smell her before I saw her. And I'm talking 25-50 feet away, I could smell her. One time she walked up to a group of us smelling just horrible. I tried to hold my breath and luckily she left soon. But when I took a gulp of air her lingering perfume hit me and I started gagging in front of everyone. Another time I loaned evil co-worker $10. A couple of weeks later I asked her about it. She made my life such hell for asking about it. Made a big deal about in and didn't pay me back for another month. She told me that she wanted to "teach me a lesson". I don't think I learned the same lesson that she wanted to teach me. I learned to never loan her money again.

Another person I worked with would come into the office we shared everyday and tell me the new reason why I should walk on eggshells around her because she didn't feel good. Whether it was cramps or a migraine or a cold or whatever. I finally told her that I would assume she was sick unless she told me otherwise. There was no need to tell me everyday what her ailments were I would assume she was sick and treat her accordingly.

Do supervisors count as co-workers?

The supervisor that I had this summer yelled at me his first week in our area because I only did 60 hours worth of work in only 45.5 hours. Huh? you say. Our work packages are broken into one work package for 2 days, or 16 hours. I did 12 hours of a work package in 9 hours on Monday and then proceeded to do 3 more full work packages on Tues-Friday. So, exhausted on Friday after working my hiney off, I was slacking a little the last 2 hrs or so of the day. I was straightening up my area and getting supplies so I could hit the ground running on the next Monday. He comes up to me and asks me if I'm done. I can't lie, so I said yes I was done but I was trying to straightening up my work area. I got the riot act read to me. Guess who didn't bust their hump for the rest of the summer until jerko boss got moved to another area?

I had another supervisor who yelled at me to the point that the veins and sinew on her neck were standing out. Why you ask? Because I had used the wrong color highlighter. The whole story is that we were supposed to highlight this report to give to supervisors with specific colors for 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, etc. Well, one of the arbitrarily chosen colors was purple. At the time we couldn't get a purple highlighter. So we were supposed to use blue and then go over it with pink to make it purple. Well, I knew that there wasn't a specific reason why the particular colors were chosen so I figured as long as I included a key to which colors meant what I would be fine. I had an orange highlighter that we didn't use for anything so instead of "making" purple, I just used orange. Well, you would have thought that I had run over my supervisors dog or something. This was the same supervisor that I learned how to fake it with so I wouldn't be the group scapegoat. I figured out that this supervisor wanted to feel like she was mentoring someone. So I would email her for advice several times a day. I would usually ask her things that were obvious and I already had the answer for. But supervisor felt like she had input and I suddenly wasn't "it" anymore in my group.

How about married co-workers having affairs with other married co-workers, and treating the rest of us like we have no idea!
