I haven't had any kids come trick-or-treating here in years. I stopped buying candy.

When we first bought this house seven years ago we got no kids at all. I had made some goodie bags and no one came for them so I gave them away to other people later that week. The next year we got a few, and every year it gets bigger. Last year I gave out over 60 bags, the year before around 50. I'm expecting more kids to visit this year. I'll also add that we get more than that number of kids knocking, but I don't give out goodie bags to kids who don't bother dressing up. They must remember that because the numbers of kids actually dressing up is growing every year.

At least 200, probably closer to 300. Parents drive their kids to my neighborhood as well. There is NO parking in my neighborhood on Halloween night.

When I was younger we used to get a lot! The majority of kids on my block were within my age group and I remember going to junior high/high school with about 15-20 kids who all lived on the same street as I. It has dwindled down quite a bit, but I'm usually not home on Halloween. Plus, when I was younger I would love to decorate the front yard but now that I'm much older and sibling-less there's no one to do that stuff! My parents just leave the light on

we get hundreds. I am not kidding. Families from less affluent neighborhoods drive to ours to go trick or treating and I love seeing their kids faces light up with all the goodies they get! Many people in my neighborhood put up very elaborate displays (during Christmas too) and one whole block of people who work in the movie industry set up really cool haunted houses in their garages and driveways. The block is informally closed down due to all the foot traffic. It really is a lot of fun. After we give all our candy out we go walking through the neighborhood to check out all the displays and haunted houses ourselves. It gets bigger every year.

It is so nice to hear from those of you who gladly hand out treats to 100's of kids and don't mind in the least bit that they don't live in your neighborhood. That's what Halloween is all about. I live in the country and I'm lucky if any kids stop by. I still keep candy on hand, just in case and I really load them up.

I've never had a kid come trick or treating on my door ever ! I used to buy bags of candy in hope that some would come, but nowadays I don't even bother since no one ever do. There aren't very many kids on my street, though, and the houses are pretty far apart, and my driveway is quite long so any kids would have a bit of a walk.
