^ I agree, the lyrics are pretty terrible. She's obviously just jumping on that girl-on-girl bandwagon (exactly like tatu did, and tila tequila has been claiming to be bisexual)...
Katy Perry even seems a little embarrased for having put it out because now all these female interviewers are jokingly saying things like, "So you're gonna kiss me right?" and Katy is like, "Uhh... Yeah."
Anyway, it's very catchy and I like it, mostly because she's got a really interesting voice.

I love this song. Even if it didn't say "I kissed a girl" I would still like it.

Just like that girl group Tatou or whatever a few years ago - it makes being lesbian look like it's "cool" or "experimental" - which is a terrible message to young girls. You don't see guys singing about being gay without getting slack for it, but if girls do it, it's "sexy" ? Please. Wrong message to young girls - I can see them now saying they kissed their best friends for fun just to see the reaction it illicits in their guy friends, meanwhile there are ACTUAL homo/bisexuals who are castigated for it.

Ok, done with the soapbox The song is catchy, at least.
I kind of disagree. I think a lot of people take sexuality too seriously. Now, that's not to say someone should jump into it without fully understanding the consequences, but once that's done, sexuality is all about experimenting. Plenty of heteros experiment, but when a girl experiments with another girl it's looked down upon? If you're curious, how will you ever find out if you like something without experimenting, and honestly, if this songs gets people to open their minds a bit, fantastic!

As far as the girl/girl being sexy whereas boy/boy isn't, well, that's cause most guys aren't sexy..duh! Females have always been the more sensual, delicate sex, as men are rough and hard. It's a almost a completely different situation, so to even attempt to compare them is pointless. Girl on girl will always be looked at differently than guy on guy.

The song is catchy and pop-lite, but I don't feel it's anything unique. If it comes on the radio, it doesn't annoy me and I won't change the channel. However, I won't turn it up, and I don't marvel at her vocals.

I find boy/boy sexy, but that's probably just me.

I was honestly seeing reading your opinion with an open mind until i saw "duh!" What grade are we in? I feel like I'm watching Dumb & Dumber. Anyone who negates someone else's opinion while throwing a "DUH!" in there isn't doing so in a very diplomatic way, don't ya think? Duh.

Further - be careful promoting "open-mindedness" about sex, saying people take it too seriously, then throwing in stereotypes- most guys aren't sexy, & women are the more sensual sex, while men are rough & hard? that's upsetting & most definitely not open-minded. isn't that just socially constructed gender? i think so. all i'm saying is, we need to be careful how & what message we send to the younger generation listening to this music. i think lyrics can speak volumes to young kids looking for guidance. A different example- telling girls to go kiss a girl here and there while they have boyfriends... isn't that promoting cheating?!? it's not just about experimenting when you talk about sex - it's much more involved. I personally think it shouldn't be taken so lightly, and that's just me. If we all took it lightly, we'd be running around with STD's. I'm done. Just don't "duh" me, please- it's rude.

No, I don't even know your name
It doesn't matter
You're my experimental game...
This part of lyrics might as well be said by a heterosexual person ( me included at some stage ); I wonder if it bugged anyone then

Some people are taking the song way too seriously, Obviously, she isnt trying to promote sex But in Reality people DO experiment, we cannot hide this fact, the song is Raw and real.
