I'm a longtime fan of the CS. Yes, their things can be pricey, so pick and choose. I used their "Elfa" system. The time to get it, like others have said, is at the annual sale. Last yr. they extended the sale time due to the economy. They have such a great selection of things. Just wander around and you will find all kinds of things you thought you could live without!!...Yes, I try to stay away...for that reason!

Oh man, do I miss The Container Store since we moved away from IL. I could find things in there I never knew I needed! Their holiday wrapping stuff is the BEST!

Is there anyone who has been in a Container Store that doesn't love it? I can't imagine so!

I've never actually been in a Container Store - I shop online. I think going into one would be a little... dangerous for me. I'm weird - I'm obsessed with organization and functionality - but I'm not very organized. It's my life's goal to become more organized. I think I've been consciously working on it since the 4th grade, and I continue to fail miserably! Still working on it...

^me too! I'll buy all a lot of hangers to make the closet look more unified, but it's just scattering around.

bumping this thread, i'm finally going to CS to explore the Elfa system going to wait for the Jan 30% sale, but i'd like to budget a head and not pay interest on cc

i have some stuff from ikea.

it depends on what you want. i have some dressers from IKEA that have a thin fiberboard for the back of the dressers. i threw that away and went to Lowe's and bought some thin wood and attached it to the back. it is more sturdier that way.

also, the container store, IMO, is like Bed Bath and Beyond, just that it focuses more on organization.
