For lack of my own web site, I usually ask people to google me (send me a PM cause I don't know if it's kosher to print real names here)
I also have new book coming out called HER CIRCLE, which is portraits taken in low natural light over the last 20 years with my twins lens Rolleiflex. Here is a couple of of those:
I am sorry the quality of not so great on these thumbnails I have attached!! You can see I am certainly no digital whiz. Old fashioned photo with darkroom here. But I love and appreciate digital and am trying to learn more...
I really want to begin working with a Medium Format camera. What do you recommend for a beginner in the realm of MF?

I highly recommend the Fugi 645. They are not quite so pricey and very well made for medium format. I think they even have a digital version now. Of course if you have no budget restrictions -- go for the gold!! a new Rolleiflex or Hasselblad.
Vlad you seem very well versed in digital. Sorry I can't talk back with you about this!! But maybe one day I can....

umm I can't really afford 5 - 20 grand for a camera yet! A hasselblad is my dream camera! I will have to check out the Fugi!

I think I'm probably the only underwater photographers here. I shoot with D2x's but I have a slew of analog gear still that I just can't part with. I haven't even broken down my dark room, even though I don't have the chemicals anymore and haven't been in there in 5+ years.

That's incredible!!

I'm into photogrpahy. :) I graduated photojournalism in college...so I'd better be. The newest fun thing for me is playing with my Lomo cameras though. I have a Nikon D1 and F5 otherwise. D1 is majorly outdated but it still does the job.

Photography is something I want to get better at, especially with all of my travels this summer.

If my class schedule isn't awful next year, I'd like to audit a photography class.

I have a Canon DR XT hand me down from DH. I like taking photos of interesting buildings and nature, especially flowers BUT I'm not that great at it yet. I wish I could be better. I guess I have to practice practice practice! DH tells me I have to read the books he got for pointers but I'm sooo lazy I do want a new lens though!

Interesting shot! I scuba dive so I also do underwater photography, though I don't get to scuba as much as I'd like to. It's been a lot of fun combining two hobbies!

Thanks! I am still somewhat new at this, but I am glad when other people enjoy my shots.

Greetings All!

I am as into photography as I am into bags!

I have way too many cameras, but each has its own use, like all my bags!

Currently shooting with:

Nikon D3
14-24
24-70
AF-S 60 macro
200-400

Canon 1D m3
70-200 f/2.8L IS
35 f/1.4
85 f/1.2 II
135 f/2

Leica M8
24 Elmarit
50 Noctilux

Sony A350 (just got this one)
18-250

I like Canon for their fast primes, Nikon for their new amazing zooms (24-70, 14-24), Leica M8 for its range finder picture taking experience and the feeling of dreamy/nostalgic effects of the pics, and the Sony A350 for its MP cropping ability in good light along with its excellent implementation of live view on a dslr!

Great collection Verni!

I just recently picked up the 85mm f/1.4 Nikkor, sweet lawd the prime is sharp! Now awaiting B&H to get the 70-200vr back in stock and I'll be set for the next year or so with gear.

Thanks Vlad!

You have a great set too. D300 is simply amazing for the price. I've seen wonderful images from the 85/1.4 lens as well. Very nice bokeh and razor sharp.

I thought about selling the canon 70-200mm for the Nikon version. Still debating about that one, both are excellent as far as I can tell.

I've read good things about the 16-85 VR, have you thought about getting that one and selling the 18-200 VR now that you will be getting the 70-200mm? 18-200 is worth keeping if you want to only carry one lens in a relatively small package. In fact, you should keep both!
