I want to say that I`m so sorry about my thread earlier today , I didn`t realize it was political. I`m not very experienced in this and I didn`t mean to do something wrong or hurt anybody`s feelings.

Keep in mind that if a story mentions a political figure, a political issue, or anything with the word political in it, than it's probably off limits. Too many emotions involved and people get nasty.

Hey we all make mistakes, especially when we are newbies. If not at this forum then at some other forum. I know you didn't mean anything by it. Some topics (they are listed in the rules) are off limits here for the aforementioned reason Natalie78 stated.

Totally not a big deal at all. I got scolded for saying "sh*t" so I feel your pain! We all make mistakes.

Hello, brilliant!
I didn't see your earlier post but just check the rules if you haven't already done so. It's OK...we do make mistakes sometimes. Looking forward to your future posts here! |

One of the first things they tell students in even high school "political science" classes, is that everything human interaction is political.
At least they used to do that, I imagine they still do, because it's true. So it's a struggle sometimes, and most of us stumble and fall at some point. And as a Free Speech Extremist, how can I be so in favor of a "no politics/religion" rule on an internet forum? Naturally, there is the personal aspect, since the world does revolve around me, after all. I came to the Purse Forum when ordered by the shamans, um, doctors, to remove stress. My constant monitoring and "lively" discussions of the various aspects of the unraveling world was actually harming me! When after a very short time, I actually felt better, and even had laboratory tests confirming that there was real, quantifiable improvement - and I began to get a sense of the population here, global, a veritable cornucopia of diversity of every kind, it started to make sense. Our Serene Management has created for us an oasis, a respite, a refuge, from all the flotsam and jetsam of that unraveling world. Obviously, we will have different levels of appreciation of that, depending, in large part, to what extent all that unraveling touches/impacts our lives. For some, the benefit may be something as simple as a "break from all the arguing," while for others, it may be a much more substantial benefit. We may really need this "safe haven" for much deeper reasons. And, in their wisdom, the Management actually encourages the discussion of some flavors of politics - the most notable and obvious would be the politics of family, of the relationships we have with other people, malfunctioning boyfriends, dysfunctional parents, BFFs who embarrass us at functions - There is even a list of people you can PM (yes, I am on it) who will post your problem anonymously if you prefer not to put your name on it, or if it is something really embarrassing, itchy, or both. The politics of fashion is also discussed. In fact, the discussions in some of those designer-specific forums can get so "lively" that I don't even go there. I might as well watch CNN. Fashion politics is not for sissies - or people who are supposed to avoid emotional stress. I will, however, venture into the politics of makeup, even clothing from time to time. The way we decorate ourselves for different occasions is totally a political act. And while we don't discuss actual religion, everything we do discuss, like everything we do, is going to have, somewhere in there, some aspect, some element involving beliefs - ours or somebody else's. There is no religion that is more faith-based than marketing, and Lord knows, we discuss us some marketing! ![]() Anyway, all that is to say that it is hard to find and maintain that delicate balance, but you should not agonize over it too much - hey, the population here even puts up with me!

I missed your earlier post, but it sounds like you never intended to cause a problem. Personally I love discussing politics, but it isn't permitted here, so I do it elsewhere.
Welcome to the Purse Forum; I doubt very much if any harm was done, so don't be hard on yourself. We all have broken or bent a rule from time to time, usually because we aren't aware. See you around! By the way, a newspaper article said Norway is the best country in the world to live in, so you are a very fortunate person!!! I would love to visit your beautiful country some day. |
