what do you consider too old? I don't think anyone is too old for Ferragamo, I actually consider most of their pieces to be timeless...and as long as you are not wearing ribbons all over you, the detail of a nice headband should look really good.

Wow..thanks for your encouraging words. I haven't had the chance to wear this yet. I'll stop being so self conscious and wear it soon! =)

IMO, a headband with a bow is something for a gal who is under 40, or looks younger than 40. I do occasionally wear headbands, but they are not embellished. I really like the Ferragamo headband with a bow, but for women of a certain age, ahem, like me, a barrette would work better.

I think I am a bit too old for these too, but they are just too cute so I wear them anyway.

I've had a hankering for these since about 10 years ago...and now that they are back I just might pick up a pair. SCP boutique had them tagged at $150USD for the thin one as pictured. I think they are classy and subtle so anyone can wear them really.

I would love one of those!! I wear hairbands all the time but haven't seen the SF ones. I think you could get away with it as an older woman provided your clothes, make up etc are appropriate. If you walked around looking like Miley Cyrus, say, that might raise eyebrows!! (no offence Miley!)

No, you are not too old. I have three bands. A thicker version in dark purple, and two thinner bands in pink and black respectively.

I prefer to use them instead of scarves or rubber bands to keep hair away from my face.

This thread has given me a major lemming for one of these!! Just popped by the store today here (Australia) to check it out, and they only had one! It was a really thin red one- super cute! Unfortunately, it costs $230 here... (roughly $180 USD) which is a lot to pay for a headband.. :(

Could someone give me the price that it is sold at in the US please? Wondering if it's worth getting a friend to pick it up for me instead. is $150 just for the thinner one?

TIA!

Thick band with bow: approximately $85 - $90
Thin band with bow: about $65

Thin band with Varina buckle: $150
Thin band with crystal: $150

Price in US$. Hope this helps.

^^ Thank you so much!! :)

This is going to be a really dumb question... but what is the varina buckle? Is that the 'logo' so as to speak of SF? I'm very much so a SF newbie, so I apologise for asking such a silly question!!

In that case though...the headband that i saw today had that 'logo' on it (two of them in fact) in the middle of the bow, so I have no idea which category that would fall under!

I will try to take a picture of my bands when i have the time.

Meanwhile, the varina buckle looks like this:

EDIT: I just checked my receipt and the correct name of the buckle is GIANCO not Varina. I got confused with my shoes!!

I see!! Thank you once again for going to all the trouble of answering my many questions :)

Does anyone have any idea of what colours/styles of headbands are currently in store? I think i'm in love with the red one that I saw here!! It's too bad it's so expensive... and the SA told me that there was a grand total of 4 in stock in all of Australia! FOUR!!
