I was on holiday on the island of Capri roughly at the time when the baguette first appeared. If I remember correctly, there are 2 Fendi boutiques on the island and one of them had nothing else in it apart from baguettes displayed beautifully around the walls and in the window - each one in splendid isolation. I would drag my boyfriend there almost every day just to look through the window - but I never had the courage to go into the shop. It took me almost 10 years before I got my first baguette and now I have 12 (and 2 croissants). I got there in the end and I adore them...

so pretty! I love them because they are so different. I would love to see pics of all 12. I used to have the zucca baquette but sold it. Do you have that in your collection? I think mostly everyone had that one at some time or another.

I do have a zucca but it's the beaded, sequinned and embroidered baguettes that I can't resist. I'm like a magpie - anything sparkly and I can't resist it! I have more pics at home that I can post as I've been creating an album of all my bags and shoes (my other passion) - I really should get out more!

One day I'd like to buy one from a Fendi boutique rather than second-hand on ebay. That would be really special but I can't see it happening as I'd have to pay the full price then. Sigh...
