I was so excited when I saw a corded spy on the sale table at Neiman Marcus and grabbed it immediately. Was even more excited when after speaking with two SA's weeks later, I got a third to agree to do the additional 25% markdown. It saved me over $550. Went in the store yesterday and couldn't stop staring at the woven spy, which is also on sale. Any opninions about these two and does the woven spy have a western flair? With what do you wear these if you have either?

Congratulations on the great deal! I love your corded Spy and I love the woven one, too! Both are gorgeous! I don't have a Spy but found myself craving for one again when I saw a picture of the woven. I would grab it if I were you!

Oh my gosh! I may be in trouble. I may end up with both when the plan was to get one or the other.

Please post pics if you get the woven Spy. I may have to live vicariously through you and and the two other ladies who have this fabulous bag. I haven't seen it where I am and even if it is available it probably won't be on 20% plus 25% sale. You ladies in the USA are so lucky! By the way, is the woven the same size as the corded Spy?

WHat are the prices on both? I have the cherry corded, it gets lots of compliments.

Definitely the woven Spy. Not a fan of the look of the corded actually.

The corded spy ended up being $1659. The woven spy retails for around $4000. It's totallly unique, eminere. Lit, I remember seeing a thread a while back with your cherry corded spy and loved it from back when. I just about broke my neck trying to capture it from the table before someone got their hands on it. Most of my bags are really different. Are these two so similar that having both would be goofy?

Love the corded -- such a special Spy. I'm surprised it was on the sale table, and surprised it even exists in stores anymore. What a find!
The woven Spy... I'm not as crazy about. But still very nice!

My heart starts racing when I think about that woven spy unspoken for. I wish somebody would buy it and put me out of my misery. ![]() |

I agree though, it's really unusual for you to find one at a dept store at this point (the corded). $1659 is a good price on it.

Ya know, even the SA's were unsure about that one. I'd never seen it in the stores. They seemed to think that it was a return and ended up there. I'm surprised one of them didn't nab it. It wasn't there a week ago when I first checked their three handbag sales tables. Then, there it was!

^--- It would have to be either a return or one that was lost somewhere in stock and then found. I think it was a second or third season Spy (someone confirm this please), so certainly, it should not have been in regular stock. Great price for it.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it came out at the same time as the regular cherry spy, which was FW 2005.

I didn't think about that. It's been around too long for someone to have just purchased and returned it. They couldn't have possibly held onto it that long before bringing it back. Wow! Now, I feel really fortunate. I just finished twirling with it and love it way too much to part with it. That one's staying for sure!
