I think the woven spy is amazing! Truely a work of art! I dont really think it has a western feel, but I guess that's more in the eye of the beholder! I would love to have that bag and think anyone whose even remotely considering it, should absolutely get it!!!

I personally like the corded better and think you've done well just to get that one - if getting the woven works out - you'll be doubley spoilt - but I think the one you got would be my choice of the 2 - it's lovely :-)

My cherry corded has spots that look like yours as well. They really bothered me at first, but after a while I don't even see them anymore. It's such a gorgeous bag and I love it so much, that I'm just so happy to have one. They aren't at all common.

As for the woven, I've seen it in person and, while my initial reaction was OMG!, after thinking about it, I just don't like it that much. It's very stiff and the weaving seems very busy. I prefer the simpler, cleaner look of BV weaving if I want an entirely woven bag. Plus, I think that price is just abominable for it.

If I had to choose between the two, it would be absolutely no contest, cherry corded all the way.

I've had my corded spy displayed in the living room so I can see it often and handle it. Because of the corded pattern, the flawed areas don't really stand out too much at a glance. I'm concerned about maybe wanting to sell it someday and not getting the reaction I want from potential buyers. Should I presume the value would definitely be lower because it looks like it hasn't been taken care of? I am so looking for a reason to keep it because I love the corded spy but desperately want one that shows no problems like mine. I'm probably out of luck because it's been around a couple of years. And, for the price, I can't beat it!

Did you buy your corded spy when they first came out, or did you buy it preowned? Can you post pictures of your spots where it's crumpled? I had mine for a while before I even noticed the problems but I'm not real familiar with spies. It's my first.
