Just got back from Off 5th. The assistant manager said he cannot take a return that's more than 30 days old, with no receipt and tags. He offered to make copies of my statement and send them to the Katy outlet where I got it, but I didn't think that would be very useful. I got the manager's name and will try calling her this afternoon.

He assured me that every Fendi that they had was bought directly from Fendi. But they recently had to pull all of the Fendi from their floors because of problems that Fendi has had with "other companies." So they can't sell any until problems with those "other companies" are resolved.

They also gave me a phone number for Corporate, but it turned out just to be the customer service number for the Saks credit card.

uhhhhh

I searched through Saks' website and found the corporate information. There is an e-mail for customer relations. So if I don't get a good result from the manager this afternoon, I'm going to write customer relations an e-mail.

Katy is near Houston, which is a good 4 to 5 hour drive from Dallas. So I can't take it there. I think I'm going to send the e-mail and snail mail it too. I would rather they have all of the facts in front of them, as well as things in writing for me.

why don't you try giving them a call? just talk to a manager and tell them what's going on.

I have thought about it, and the assistant manager today offered to send over documents for me. But I'm concerned on how they would render a decision without the bag. I guess I can send the bag too.

Edit: I just called the Katy store, and that manager said he would be fine with refunding my money. He said he knew the Fendis were pulled, but he never got the reason, so this is probably it. He said he would call the Off 5th near me and ask if they can just issue the refund, otherwise, I would have to mail the bag to Katy, and then he would issue me the refund.

At least someone isn't trying to win the BS story of the year contest over there.

Acck, more drama. The manager of the Off 5th near me called and said she's going to pull up my receipt (I gave her my Saks card number and the date of purchase) and then e-mail the regional director to ask if they can issue a refund. She said she'll call me back. Both her and the assistant manager from this morning, I don't think they understand. I am not returning the bag because I don't like it anymore. We're talking about multiple counts of counterfeit transactions and trademark violations here, OMG!!!

Ugh. What is with these people? Obviously there is knowledge at some level that Off 5th was selling fakes--or at least there is enough info out there that with a minimal amount of thought one could figure it out (why else would these bags get pulled?) I would remind them that selling fakes is a CRIME and if they don't refund you promptly and without hassle, you are sure both Fendi and perhaps national news agencies would be interested in hearing about Saks' selling practices.

IMO, Saks should have had to do its best to locate every person it sold a fake to and issue them a refund. Cripes.

Now that you mention it, I was thinking about telling the manager yesterday to put down the following words when she writes the regional director: fraud, trademark infringement, counterfeit, class action. No particular order, don't even have to be in a sentence, just write them down!

The one I have been dealing with, yes, in Grapevine. But I bought the bag from the Katy Off 5th. However, a few weeks after I bought this bag, I did see the same bags at the Grapevine store.
