I have bought several bags from Saks Off Fifth and have never bothered to authenticate them. I bought a Velextra and a Marc Jacobs. I would be shocked!

I wouldn't be concerned about Saks...just the outlet for Saks (Saks off 5th). I feel Saks would be more cautious with which vendors they do business with. Although, you can never be too safe!

I would have them authenticated just to be safe.

I had just read this thread from beginning to end and I'm completely disheartened that even Saks sells fake bags. I purchased a Fendi fabric bag from Saks about three years ago and no long have the receipt or tags. I apparently have no real recourse. What's even worse is the feeling that one can't trust even a Saks!

I still trust Saks, just now the Saks Outlet..I feel Saks is much more regulated than Off 5th is and this would never happen at Saks... I wouldn't be concerned if you purchased it directly from Saks.

I have read this entire thread and all I can say is WOW and unbelievable! I guess it is just best to purchase bags directly from the vendor, in this case, that would be a FENDI boutique.

you really don't have to worry about Saks off 5th carrying fake bags anymore. i've talked to a manager and found out that the buyer purchased fendi handbags from a middle man and not through fendi. they have pulled all fendi off the floor about three years ago. 95% of their handbags come directly from the vendor itself. once in awhile they'll receive handbags (gucci, chanel, balenciaga, marc jacobs, and other premium designer brands) from the full-line Saks.

Please, anyone else who has bought a bag--especially a FF logo print bag--at Off 5th, please take pics of your bag, and especially its hologram, leather serial strip, and authenticity card and post them in this thread for us.

It really ticks me off that Saks would use its goodwill to pass off fakes on unsuspecting buyers. Yes, it is "Off 5th", but it still is owned by Saks and carries the Saks name, and IMHO there is no way Off 5th should be selling fakes (aside from the simple fact that it is illegal).
This is quite comical and sad.

I know there are some websites selling fendi and prada at discount prices, a good chunk of that merchandise is fake, but some of the items are real. They buy through third parties so either they have no idea how to authenticate the merchandise and relay on the third parties word or they know and just sell the fake stuff to keep their inventory at a certain level when authentic merchandise at a discount gets scarce.

I'm guessing Off 5th purchases their bags from third parties where Ashford, Dellamoda etc. get their bags. What's sad is that most people are already suspicious of web vendors but I'm sure they are completely unaware this is a problem for public retailers as well.

Has anyone heard of any fakes being sold at Off Fifth recently? While most of my bags are Fendi, I just bought a Chanel bag at Off Fifth, and the salesgirl said that while they don't usually carry Chanel, it was a return from another Off Fifth that did have Chanel bags. Having previously read this thread, it made me a little nervous. I don't have a camera to post pictures, or I would do so on the Chanel forum, but I did check for all appropriate markings, and it looks good.

Any new info? Thanks.

just wondering, and hope I'm posting in the right place, but would this just be handbags, in particular Fendi handbags at this store that are fakes? Wondering because I never really knew what store this thread was about, never bothered to read it. Well, today went outlet shopping and saw Saks off 5th which I did go into to look around. Anyway, my ? is what about ex. Fendi sunglasses, or the other stuff they sell there? I did see some Missoni and Burberry scarfs. Will they be ok to purchase?

I think they sell fake clothes there, too. I bought a Vera Wang dress and Juicy heels at the one in Philly.
