M - the B Bag looks good You wild one...
There are some variations in cards, bags by year and manufacturing location. The one you purchased at FENDI is a 2008 mfr year, while Jomashop is a 2007 year. Frequently we see the FENDI overstock inventory from a prior year coming out of jomashop and Blue fly and overstock.com .

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! baglady!! That makes me feel so much better with your opinion! I really love the look of this bag and I will be so sad if it is a fake. But could you please just take another look at this picture. I think this is part that throws me off the most - notice that the "FENDI" word on the card was a little off...

Unfortunately, there is no serial number anywhere in the bag. Didn't realise that Fendi baguettes hv serial numbers. Seller claimed it is an authentic Fendi after bringing it to an upscale consignment shop. Realised that it might be a dud after looking at the magnet closure and lining. The rest of the hardware in the photos looked ok.

This looks bad :(

Does anyone know how to authenticate a Fendi duffel luggage bag....My friend found this and was wondering how to tell. We can't find any serial numbers on the bag, but we heard that in the eighties, sometimes there weren't any. Are there any other indications we should be looking for? Here are the photos....Thanks so much for any info!

BC - is is real Ostrich or leather that looks like ostrich....? On real ostrich, the leather is soft and the goose pimple thingeys feel like real parts of the top skin layer. If it is real ostrich it is unlikely to be a fake, since very expensive. (from your pics it sort of looks real to me)The serial numbers sometimes come off or fade, maybe only a few flakes left. But I can't really give an opinion on a bag without one I am afraid.

I'm pretty sure it is real, but would like to see code on leather serial number strip (sewn into lining across from seam with hologram) just to confirm.

It looks off to me. For one thing, the constrast top stitching in white or light thread is not usually done by FENDI with the brown leather. Here is some "80s" luggage to compare. Also, the bag itself shows older features, but looks too "new" on features in other areas, like the strap....
http://forum.purseblog.com/attachmen...5&d=1196194057 AHHHH Sophia!!
You might post more pics, like the interior & hardware close ups if you still think it is real, Underside of zipper say FF?
...the FF hardware that connects the handles, looks odd to me also....
