I find this insinuation PERSONALLY offensive.
I have many times deleted signatures, avatars, and posts that I agreed with as well as ones I didn't agree with. If the member gets reported, the political things get deleted, no matter the candidate or issue they're about. You say that you've seen members with political messages that aren't dealt with - DID YOU REPORT THEM? If you didn't, you're part of the problem about which you're complaining, and if you did, then I personally defy you to find one that was not dealt with in the exact same manner as your political message was dealt with.
There are over 125,000 members here and 13,000 new posts daily. There are exactly SIX people (Megs, Vlad, and the global mods - me, swanky, cristina and pradas meadow) with the capabilities necessary to delete a member's avatar, signature, or a post in any section. It might take us a couple of hours to get to some reported posts (shock of shocks - we all have jobs, families, and responsibilites that might not include constantly searching the forum for political messages), but I assure you that they're all dealt with in the exact same way when and if we are made aware. If you expect them to be deleted immediately, your expectations are unreasonable, and that's your problem and not ours.
Also, it's ridiculous for you to believe that a group of moderators from all different walks of life and different parts of the country are going to go about clandestinely enforcing some sort of unified political message - we all have different beliefs, we don't agree with each other at all, so exactly what sort of partisan politics is a group of people that don't all support the same party supposed to enforce?
Your signature was blatantly against the rules - a rule that you agreed to when you joined and was just reannounced in a reminder for everyone last week. How exactly is enforcing a widely publicized forum rule anything but fair?
