OP: you can't really blame the mods b/c it is physically impossible to monitor every single post that is made. Which means that...stuff that breaks the rules is only taken down if someone reports it. if something bothers you so much you should report it to the mods, and not just let it sit there and then accuse the mods of not doing anything. i've reported things like insanely large signatures, spam, obscene language etc and they've all been promptly taken care of by the mods.

and, FWIW, i spend a ton of time on TPF, and i have never seen any posts or sigs that are politically related. a few times i've seen newbies start posts on politics and the thread gets closed *immediately*.

^^^I saw a member's "location" listed as the main slogan of one candidate. There was a troll in BV whose username was one of the party names. Fortunately they both are gone, so someone was right on top of it.

It's a good policy, and considering the thousands of posts, the members have to help the mods with what's happening. I haven't noticed bias at all.

I am curious about 2 things...did y'all have a bad experience with politics that it is such a taboo subject? I am guessing that you had lots of arguing and thats why its such a bad topic?? Or is it simply you dont want it on your forum?? Just curious.

And I am curious about the different colors of mods, what do they represent? Some are red (I think just Megs and Vlad), but then there is pink and orange. What do they mean? I know I am being nosey hehe! You dont have to answer if its not meant to be public knowledge.

no, not a bad experience.
I've personally watched allowing politics on another website that I mod tear it apart. I mean literally tear it apart.
It just has no place here.
Thankfully.

The different colors are just different levels.

Megs and Vlad are Admins
me, Cristina, Amanda and Prada's Meadow are Global Mods
and the rest of our now larger mad team are another color.
