Default Site changes caps to small letters????

I just typed LMAO in another thread and when I posted it it said Lmao not L M A O with no spaces. Why is it doing this?

Edited to say - okay, odd... my first LMAO above is all in caps but when I posted it in a thread in GD it did not keep all my letters in CAPS.

What's going on?

Did you use the Quick Reply box instead of Post Reply?

I noticed when I use Quick Reply that it doesn't keep the letters in CAPS.

If all you write in a post is in caps, it will lower case it.

This is a sentence written solely in caps.

No Vlad, that doesn't make sense. It was an acronym not an entire post. As I said above, above the LMAO is all in caps like it should be but in my post on the other thread it changed it to lower case.

ETA - see here in the sentence above LMAO is in caps like it should be.

If the only thing you type in a post is a word or sentence that is in all caps, it will lower case it.

See my above post, I typed AHA, but it was changed to Aha because it was the only word typed. I've also typed ITA as a response and it was changed to ita. If all you typed was LMAO in a post, it will lowercase it. Make sense?

I'm assuming this change might have been in response to some posters who like to type their entire posts in all caps which is hard to read and usually comes across as aggressive in the computer world. Just my assumption, but I could be wrong.

All caps comes off as yelling or just really hard to read/annoying so there is a set up to disallow that. LMAO should work though... some other interference there

The forum software automatically lowers all-caps posts by default. No matter whether it's just a simple LMAO or a "WHOLE CAPS SENTENCE".

This is one of the functions of the forum that I love. Sometimes I am writing in caps and I am too lazy to re-write, wait I don't need to. tPF does it for me
