I don't have these programs yet, either. But I think I have a temporary solution. Do you have Microsoft Paint (this should be in "Accessories" under the "All Programs" menu)? If you do, open a file with the picture you want to resize. Then go to the "Image" option and choose "Stretch/Skew" from the drop down menu. I usually choose to stretch a picture 50% both horizontally and vertically.
Save as a jpeg file, and you should have a smaller pic!

Or....you may want to ask Vlad if he can resize for you....

Good luck!

Hi, I'm still having trouble posting my profile pic. I changed it to 100 x 100 pixel size, it shows it in the profile page, but when I post a comment, my pic isn't there? Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Try making sure the kb's are small enough and try changing it to 80X100, don't forget to click "Submit".

There is a difference between profile picture and avatar. The one that shows up with your posts is the avatar!

I downloaded this program (GIMP) a few months ago...it's FRREEEEEEE! It is supposed to be very similar to Photoshop.

It's pretty easy to use, I have to click on three different things to rescale pics, watermark and save.

I can try to answer any questions. Basic ones.

Hey Vald,

I was wondering, is there a way to edit your post?

On most threads you can, but not all (like the bag showcase)
There's a button on the right hand side of your post, to the left of the Quote button.

Hi guys (especially Vlad for this question!),

I'm probably being clueless, but I still can't figure out how to post pics from another website. Just for example, what if I wanted to put in a picture of this bag:

http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product...atId=cat103193

Clearly, I know how to paste in the site address, but I don't know how to just get the thumbnail up there -- like I see lots of others doing. I know you explained this earlier in the thread, but I got confused about the "hotlink".

Thanks for helping

Instead of hotlinking, I would advise you to save the image you want to share locally, then use the attachment function to upload it to the forum.
