Default New Google ads on tPF
I will probably be tarred and feathered by others in my lovely profession of advertising, but I just had to say that I really hate the Google ads that are new to this site.

I realize tPF is a business and having Google ads brings in revenue but from a user's point of view for some reason they annoy the hell out of me.

Opinion complete.

I should also add that I just was in the Animalicious section and a Google ad appeared on the bottom for a site that sells counterfeit Louis Vuitton.

^^I caught the fake handbag ad last night too. I took a screen cap.

Also, will they be appearing in some sub-forums and not others? I've seen them in celeb section and animalicious threads so far.

Desperate times require desperate measures. Google is supposed to show targeted ads for bag-unrelated forums, only. If this is going to be too much of a pain in the rear, I'll remove them again.

I understand. I only know Google from the paid search perspective, not the perspective of being a site where ads are being placed. I'm assuming you can't provide Google with a negative keyword list? I've had to do that in the past to keep a TV network to not show up in searches that had specific words in it (such as porn related, politics, etc.).

I don't have a problem with them at all. I completely understand the revenue measure behind them, but as someone else mentioned, there have been a couple ads that are contradictory to what tPF stands for - those ones need to go away.

They don't bother me. . . I can't even tell you what was on the bottom of the page before they appeared
Pretty much all websites have ad, and lots of them, I think tPF has done an amazing job of keeping them relatively unnoticeable compared to other sites.

That said, before, if a fakes site appeared, Vlad asked us to list them for him to block, is this still possible Vlad?

Ok, I guess it changes each time it the page is pulled up because it isn't there now.
