I'm having trouble searching within a specific sub-forum or a specific thread. I get all sorts of unrelated results from other forums.

In this case, I searched the term "merlot" in a ZC thread in the MJ sub-forum. I received only 4 results with just one from that specific thread. You'll see in my screen shots, I received results from other forums such as the LV and Deals/Steals forum.

Also, I only went back a few pages but I counted at least 3 posts with that term in them. You'll see that only one post showed up in the search results.

Thanks for continuing to look into this!

This is weird. I will wait for Vlad to come back from the getaway... I don't want to change anything to the settings without his OK. I don't know where he went but his cell does not answer...

I will create a regular user and try it again. In the same time, can anyone else visit Edith's profile and let me know if they see mixed posts (from other users)?

Please keep them coming the errors or issues you encounter.

Regards,
I only looked at the first page, but I only saw Edith's posts

Same problem as others have reported. Tried searching on my own posts and got maybe three. Then got a whole bunch that had nothing to do with my query, with threads I'd never posted on.

Here's the exact page I start my search on - http://forum.purseblog.com/the-beaut...262832-90.html

I do the "search this thread" and enter "clinique" and get a whole bunch of wacky crap.

I'm noticing a problem with the PREVIOUS POSTS option when you click on a user's name.

An example: someone posted a question in the MJ Authentication thread regarding a specific item and then created a thread about the item (it was clothing, not a bag), but when I clicked on the PREVIOUS POSTS link, the most recent post was the creation of her thread and the next earliest post was from 6 mos ago. I went into the Authenticate This thread and found at least two posts from this user on 4/30

here are some screen shots which show the discrepancy -- the first shows the results when you click SEE OTHER POSTS BY THIS USER. the 2nd and 3rd are recent posts from the same user just a few days ago (out of respect for the user, I blocked out their name -- but you can see the date and time of the search results and the date/time of the most recent posts)

Yup. The search feature is messed up. I've been trying to find something I posted (looking for the name of a bag) in a specific subforum, but when I do the search (specifying only posts by me in that subforum), only the first two results shown were posted by me. The rest of the results shown were neither posted by me nor do they contain any of the search terms. So, basically, I can't find anything...

Thanks for confirming this. We know it is not related to the search software but rather the server configuration. There is something weird that happened... few hours later, when I viewed Edith's posts (again), they all showed broken.

I reported this to Vlad, so he can investigate it with his servers administrators.
This is what is happening: most users have proper search results for a while... then everything breaks and all results are bad. This not because the search is broken, but rather the requests are incomplete (bad browser-server communication).

I know this because the new search version was tested into other 2 large forums and it works perfectly.

Floren is right, there is something fishy going on and we're investigating why it's misbehaving.

Thanks Vlad.. I noticed that if I type L.A.M.B. it gives me an error and if I type it without the periods I do not get any results.
