It depends on what my item is, as to where i put my watermark. As I design digital scrapbooks. In this case people dont want to use something with a mark on. However, if it was a pic, like a bag. I would put in bang in the middle of the photo. If it is a transparent image, it wont make much difference, but it will stop someone trying to clone it off. You cannot really clone a watermark off, when it is on the object in question, but, if it is in a corner, even an amateur will crop it off, clone it. etc.

Will try and post an example, if I can find one quickly.

For instance on my, myspace pictures I'm literally putting it near my face..I've had problems with people stealing my photos so this is why I'm doing it. I figured if it's near my face and they crop it, I don't want my photo to be much usuage to them..make sense? (I hope)

no, there's no software as far as I know that lifts watermarks, even if they have photoshop too.
Maybe there IS software that does it, but I'd gues most handbag photo thieves wouldn't have it.
Just don't put it on a corner, actually cover some parts of your item w/ it, that will make it more difficult to crop it out.

I don't have photoshop on this computer, and I use microsoft paint (which every computer has), to do my watermarks. you just hit the little A box (which is a text box), then click on the very bottom box (which makes it transparent except for the letters), pick whatever color you want to make the words - I always go wtih super super light gray), type your word, resave it, and that's it. Just another way to do it

Default How to watermark my pictures?

I'm relatively new to selling on eBay and I have read a lot about people stealing other peoples pictures to use in their own auctions without first getting permission.

I would like to learn how you all place id's on your own pictures. Most of us work very hard to take good photos with a lot of detailing and it's unfair for someone to just come along and 'steal' it.

If you have Photoshop, use this:
How do I watermark pictures in Adobe Photoshop?

I don't, I just have Paint. So I open the files in the program, create a text box across the item and type in whatever your watermark will be. Make sure you have the background set to transparent though so you don't have a big white box on top of your item.
