Day 2 of trying to get my ticker to work. At least today it showed up in the preview AND signature box as an image and not just the text/link. Testing...
edit: and it still won't work. I don't get it. The text showing in my sig right now is not what I pasted and saved into my signature in my user CP. Help? |

grrrrrr I've tried three different ticker sites. All will preview okay, but when I click save, it removes the [img] tags and just ends up being text. I guess I have a setting that won't allow bbCode??

I finally figured out how to post a ticker on here and thought I would share how I got it to work. I went to the acceptable image sites link list that Vlad posted and found that 'tickerfactory.com' was allowed. I went and re-read my BB code version. It said 'tickers.tickerfactory.com' which is a different domain.
So I removed the following from the BB code: (should be on the first line in the bbcode): 'tickers.' I took that out. So what was left was a BB code version that was all in the domain 'tickerfactory.com' and that was how I got my ticker to work. I just thought I would share. In my case the domain was not acceptable to the site and was thus not showing up. |

Good call there nevadagrl, I was always under the impression though that any sub-domain under an allowed domain would work fine. I just try that out!

Here's how I got TickerFactory to work for me:
After you go through all the steps, and create your ticker...make sure you bookmark it so you can easily get to it later to change data...don't use any of the codes in the bbCode box...HTML box...or EzCode box. Simply drag your mouse and highlight over the actual color graphic of your ticker...copy...then go to tPF> My Control Panel > Settings and Options > Edit Signature. Paste into the large box at the top labeled "Edit Signature." Ignore the "Upload Signature Picture" box below. Preview to make sure it works, and save! Then when your data changes, go to your bookmarked page from TickerFactory, make your changes, and your ticker should automatically show the new changes on tPF. The ticker will now show up on future posts you make...not previous ones. |

I tried using the ticker as a signature but when I copied and pasted the code onto signature box for TPF, it came up as an invalid file.
I tried the image URL but it is just the image and does not change everyday. Can anyone walk me through this? Thanks. |

I think when this happened to me, I copied the actual ticker from the lilypie website, and then pasted it into the tpf text box. Once I saved it, the ticker showed up on my signature. Hope this helps!

Here's what worked for me on TickerFactory.com...hopefully, this will work on Lilypie.com:
After you go through all the steps, and create your ticker...make sure you bookmark it in case you need to make changes...ignore the HTML codes in the box below. |
