alij..it is not the buyer's responsibility to buy insurance on an optional basis anymore. ebay sees it as the seller is responsible to pay the insurance to ensure the item gets to the buyer, and they want the seller to build the insurance fee into their selling price, so insurance becomes an automatic on all sales.

as for this seller the OP is asking about, i don't know them, but they look to be reputable. i'd venture to say she gets the bags from those blowout Macy's sales or outlet buys. Lucky isn't a brand sought after by counterfeiters because they are generally affordable.

whether she offers insurance or not, if you pay with paypal, through the auction and with your credit card, you are covered regardless. if she doesn't buy the insurance, she will have to pay you back from her own money. so no worries.

Hi again ladies --

So I'm not one to jump to conclusions too soon BUT I contacted her early EARLY Saturday morning via email expressing the bags of interest and how I wanted to proceed with things. I have not heard back. I don't know about you but if you really wanted someone as a customer and wanted a sale wouldn't you respond back right away and finish out the transaction? I know she has been online because bags have been added and sold in her auction? Worrying over nothing or would you just move on and find other vendors to do business with even though the bags are so hard to find? I really want these bags but actions on her behalf can be telling me something else prior to completing the transaction? I should not have to send someone mulitple emails to get a response. I don't know if I am reading into things but there have been times that I had to follow-up and only when I followed up I got a response? When do you no longer bother? Thanks in advance.

well i wouldn't expect a reply from anything business related on the weekend. so i'd give it a few days.
perhaps new listings are being entered by someone other than the seller you spoke to. if this is their business, then i'd assume they don't reply to inquiries on the weekend.

Allemia, really? I had no idea. I guess every seller operates differently as I have inquired to other auctions and gotten same day responses on a weekend. Still haven't heard back yet. I'm trying to be patient as I know my reply had gone through. I shouldn't have to contact her again:( She would have to set up the auction I would like to bid on. I'm also anxious about it because one of the bags I have an interest in is limited in quanity. Aside from that I've just been looking at other auctions. So the wait game begins?

Ok ladies, its Tuesday 8:47am. As of now, no response. By any chance is Ebay's messaging system down? Would you follow-up again, especially knowing you want to finish out this transaction? It's ironic how communication seemed to decrease. Isn't that usually what a shady buyer would do first? Is my imagination running wild?

Yes, eBay's message system is very glitchy lately, it's caused no end of problems; and yes, your imagination is running wild.

And I'm beginning to wonder (((Baggie darling))) if you'll turn out to be a buyer from hell

Average business hours are 9-5, and who knows how many messages this seller will have to read, investigate and respond to when they eventually do log on?

Sit tight for a while

Scllya, hi - No buyer from hell here. Just impatient as hell. I have no problem paying:) Seller seems cool, just the fall off from a response is throwing me off. Trying to sit tight, really really trying. Shouldn't we all be so fortunate to know that there are some buyers out there who really have nothing but GOOD intentions. My only crime is I am delirious for handbags. As long as I'm protected, I might as well give it a shot. Thanks for responding.

i think it's fine to send a follow up. just state you were concerned maybe your message didn't go through, but that you were ready to purchase, just waiting to hear back regarding the details (or whatever your specifics are)

if you don't here back this time, then i'd write it off.

Thanks alliemia! Message sent. A person can only wait so long, no? It's like going into a store, expressing an interest in a bag and the cashier gives you the run around NOT letting you pay, Stay tuned.....

Just got a response, interesting eh? Her response:

"That sounds good. Sorry I've taken so long to get back with you. I've been dealing with a dying computer and ended up switching from a PC to a Mac, and it's been a good bit more time consuming than I'd hoped. I'll get back to you today before 5ET with your item number for the 2 bags. "

I really hope I won't get duped. Giving her the benefit of the doubt. Stay tuned ladies....

Just hang in there... don't be to paranoid... give them the benefit of the doubt but keep all your messages though ebay and make sure you get copies sent to your mail account so you have records if in the end you DO need to file a claim for something.

Ok ladies, here is the update. It's officially 9:30 E time. Never heard back. Still think the seller is experiencing "technical difficulties"? I will leave things as they are for now. Will update if any change. I'm a little disappointed at the moment. Any thoughts?
